    Asa "bhau" Eyedropper

Hello friends , Here is the story , how by search for the perfect everyday carry pen comes to the end ! Options considered : Wality 69T : Issues with nib and feed but good ink carrying capacity Pelikan M200 : Great piston filler but risk in using it on a shop floor Chinese pens : Poor ink carrying capacity Other cartridge/convertor models : Again ink capacity issue My requirements : Large ink storage capacity , minimum 2 ml - have to go for an eyedropper Simple to maintain and clean - Again an eyedropper Full burp free performance - Have to for for a Schmidt nib unit Materials preferred - Combination of ebonite and acrylic No surprises for ink levels - Have to go for a demonstrator Sturdy and reliable - Have to go for our well known brand i.e. ASA from Chennai, India as pen is going to be used on shop floor and not in an air conditioned office After discussion with Mr Subramanium of ASA pens , he gladly accepted my request to manufacture my first custom pen And finally here is the outcome : ASA " Bhau" eyedropper The word "Bhau" means "Big brother" in Marathi language , The design is inspired from ASA genius pen Design : Cap : Rounded cap with simple teardrop chrome clip . Cap posts nicely Barrel : Full transparent lathe turned barrel for checking ink level Section : Green swirled ebonite section of dia 11 mm Nib and feed : Renowned Schmidt medium nib unit for burp free performance Conclusion : Enjoying spectacular craftsmanship of ASA once again Hope you all will enjoy this review Awaiting comments from you all as usual , Regards , BAAZ
  2. Hello friends , Greetings !! Baaz is back with a new Indian eyedropper ! Mohi "Anamik" eyedropper After receipt of this pen I couldn't resist request from my friend and our fellow fpn member Vaibhav M about posting review On a thanksgiving day , Mr Pathak sent me pictures of this new pen on What's app . Immediately I called him and requested to keep this pen reserved for me . But this time I found no engraving of name on the pen , so , I have given the name " Anamik" . Meaning of Anamik is the one who is not having any name . Here are the details : Design : Classic shape , fully acrylic body , a medium size pen Cap : Top is slightly rounded , chrome finish cap ring , teardrop clip . Cap is also turned on CNC turning machine Finish quality is at par. Cap unscrews in just one turn due to multi start threads Barrel : Inspired from Wality 69T shape , transparent barrel with smooth external and internal finish Ink capacity : 2 ml . Cap can't post on barrel . Size comparison is done with my Wality 69T Section : Dia 10 mm , swirled black and orange acrylic , nice grip for long writing sessions Nib and feed : First time using "Ricoh" make nib , writes between fine and medium . Regular ebonite feed works well Writing example attached . No burping yet observed Conclusion : Once again great job done by Mr Pathak from Abhay pens , Aurangabad I am enjoying this immaculate pocket size pen ! Hope you all will enjoy this review Comments are always welcome Sincerely , Baaz
  3. Hello friends , BAAZ is back with a new FPN ..... Yesterday one new acrylic beauty received .. Mohi Tanishq eyedropper fountain pen Thanks to my buddy residing at Aurangabad , India After receiving pictures of this pen from Mr Pathak from Abhay pens , I couldn't resist myself from ordering one This time also enjoying quality of a CNC turned fountain pen Details : This pen is a pocket size pen , smaller than Mohi Harmony pen Cap : Classic looking flat top cap with steel ornaments like cap ring and clip . Square shaped clip with sufficient spring tension ok for a daily use pen . Cap posts well . Screw on cap unscrews in 2 turns Section : 11 mm dia with hump to prevent slipping . Perfect design for a medium size fellow like me. Comfortable for long writing sessions Fine threads 10 mm length and tight fit with barrel to avoid ink burping . Barrel : Smoothly turned and finished , having a large ink window for easy viewing of ink level . "Mohi tanishq:" letters are painted on barrel . Overall solidly built Nib and feed : Ebonite feed having different design than regular Indian feeds supporting for a good wet ink flow. Nid is engraved "Iridum point Germany" , writes between fine and medium. At first stage I fount it scratchy then I have performed some tuning tricks like grinding on fine oilstone , then it started writing well Writing example attached with some devnagari script . Price : "0" INR for me , as everytime it is not necessary to give money to close friends .....But as per feedback from him approximately up to 500/- INR Conclusion : A truly well crafted pen. I have loaded it with my favourite Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue with 1/3 rd ink level intentionally , but found no ink burping/skipping . Rigid yet attractive design . Thanks to Mr Pathak .. I hope you all will enjoy this review , comments are always welcome as usual .. Sincerely , BAAZ

Color combination I have chosen is icy blue and white, other options are also available . Nib and feed : Nib is manufactured by customer having MOHI , tipped fine engraving . 5. Hello friends , My never ending journey continues in search of new Indian fpns.. While searching for some unused Indian brands , I came across 'OLIVER' pens from Chennai,India . Those are easily available on website of 'ASA' pens. After seeing pictures of this pen , I couldn't resist myself from ordering one..Mr.Subramaniam who is a fellow FPN member immediately sent me one piece with swirl green colour. The service of ASA pens is simply amazing. As a fan of transparent eyedroppers, Oliver Karma found me a sturdy pen. The word 'Karma' means 'Duty' in Sanskrit. It is a fusion of Sheaffer no-nonsence and the famous Wality 69TL pan. Here are the details of Oliver Karma: Cap : Flat top cap , injection molded, having gold plated cap ring. Clip is similar to Sheaffer NN pen. Barrel : Solid acrylic, turned/drilled/bored on a lathe.Polished in a descent way.Barrel having close fitting with section.Threaded portion having 10 mm approximate length. All this resulting in no blobbing/blurping like other large eyedroppers. Section:Nib and feed press fitted in section.Plastic quality is very good.Grip dia is similar to Sheaffer NN. Nib and feed:Oliver make steel gold plated fine nib lays down nice wet lines. Ebonite feed having 30 mm in length,6 mm dia.works absolutely well in long writing sessions.Ink flow is consistent.I have checked and found ok at low ink levels also. Feeling mechanism : Eyedropper filler easy to clean and maintain . Workmanship and performance : The manufacturer have done a great job indeed.Demonstrator pen fans will definitely love this pen. Writing example can be seen in attached picture. Lines are finer than Wality medium nib. Conclusion: Fans of Indian eyedroppers must have this pen in their collection..... Hope you all have enjoyed this review. Comments are welcome.. Regards , "BAAZ"
