  1. This pen is coming up at the local auctions, and is listed in the catalogue as a "Dash Pen 14 Carat Nib", but I can't find anything about it. Might anyone be able to tell me what it is? http://www.scammellauctions.com.au/catalogue/shop_image/product/199/1e43fac74f16c8abf0b4d6e4270f1090.jpg
  2. I am New to fountain pens but after cleaning up and using some old Parkers that I found at an estate sale, I am totally hooked. I would, however, like to know more about the pens that I have. I have some Parkers and Sheaffer's as well as a waterman. I will be posting pics of the others in their appropriate threads. I would like to know what year they were made, if they're worth anything and also if the correct caps are on the correct pens. please let me know if you have any questions about any of the pens. Thank you!! This one is a parker 51 on the top of the barrel (nearest the cap) it has engraved; "MADE IN THE USA" and then the number "9"

    Platinum Pocket Pen: Help!

I have a Platinum pocket pen with a slight problem: it doesn't take either converters or the standard Platinum cartridges because the barrel opening is too small. Here's the full body: http://extras.ourpatioparty.com/files/9914/4486/3419/Platinum_-_Full-640p.jpg And the open barrel: http://extras.ourpatioparty.com/files/7214/4486/3420/Platinum-Open_Barrel1-640p.jpg You see the threaded end has a metal 'rim,' preventing a normal cart from fitting. As I got it secondhand, it didn't come with 'instructions.' Any help or information you can give me on how to fill this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. HI anyone know what model this pen is? on the box it says 1995 - if that helps..thanks so so so much
  5. Hi everyone, I inherited these pens a few years ago and I must admit I don't know much about them at all. I admire their beauty and workmanship. I think I will keep one for myself and try to sell the others on this forum (in the appropriate section, of course). However, before I can begin, I need to price them. Will someone please help me with a price range for each of the sets below? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Identifying Problem

Hello everyone ! I'm sorry to bother you, but I need your help to identify this Sheaffer. First time when I saw it, I thought it was a PFM, but when I saw the feed pictures it didn't seem to have a Snorkel filling mechanism, and it looks a little odd. First, I asked the seller but he didn't knew, then I tried to google it but nothing conclusive came up. The images attached, are from the seller. I don't know if I should insert the source link because I don't want to advertise. I hope that starting a new thread wasn't inappropriate for this situation, and if a special thread for this kind of problems exists I will delete the thread and post there. I am also sorry for my poor english and I wish you all the best there is !
  7. Dear All: Is Montblanc North America the best place to service a Montblanc pen? What is the safest way to send it and how does one calculate how much insurance is required? I have two pens. A Meisterstück 149 Fountain Pen and an unknown fountain pen shown below. What is the name of this pen? I received ths as a gift about 15-20 years ago and it was purchased in Europe. I have looked at many photographs of pens and was unable to identfy it. Thank you, Jeff
  8. Hi all! These are a couple of pens someone is selling on my country's version of craigslist. He describes them as "Merlin 14k gold fountainpens. Old. Warrented iridium on one and osmi-irid on the other." (I assume he means on the nibs.) Unfortunately these are the only pics I have. I can see that it says Merlin on the pictured nibs, but the clips don't look like the Merlin 33's at all! Does anyone have a clue what these could be? http://i.imgur.com/n1q8gyo.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/U2qXWjl.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/doqbOG2.jpg

  10. My boyfriend received this Montblanc pen as a graduation gift a few years back. He hasn't used it so we are thinking about selling it. Can anyone assist in identifying the model? Thanks in advance!

    Help Me Identify Two F/p

Hi (and happy new year). I decided it was time to add Watermans and bought a couple. One is a CF, as it says on barrel and cap, comes with "18k" and a head on the nib. About the other no clue, nib says Waterman +"18k" + "750", It has a F on back. The ring on cap "waterman made in france". Both go with its specific converter. Can pls help to name and time frame both? thanks and regards
  12. http://i.imgur.com/ohVDjB3.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/vjYnoSU.jpg Sorry for the blurry photos. My only camera is an old phone that doesn't focus. I found this pen among some of my father's stuff. It has USA written under the Cross logo above the clipper. Does anyone have any idea which model this is?
  13. Hello FPN friends, I recently obtained this lovely Sheaffer pen in a trade with a redditor. I don't know what it is, or how old it is, and I was hoping one of you experts could help me ID my new friend. It is an eyedropper fill, if that makes a difference, but I am not certain it was originally an eyedropper. Here are some photos, not the best quality, sorry! I'm not great at photographing pens. https://www.flickr.com/gp/k8seren/9iyG6n/ Thanks for reading!
  14. I recently bought a Visconti fountain pen, and would be grateful for the benefit of your assembled wisdom in confirming (or refuting) my guess as to what exactly I have acquired. See description, followed by pictures. The pen was sold as a diamond jubilee limited edition, new and unused, sold as a unwanted gift. It comes in an original box, with the booklet in the box drawer, but with no warranty card. According to what I can find online, diamond jubilee pens were created as fountain pens (with a crown on the cap) and as ballpoints (modelled on the new Van Gogh, I suspect). The LE comes in two colours: imperial ruby (red) and royal purple. With the fountain pen I have, it looks like someone converted the ballpoint into a fountain pen by swapping the ball-point-and-grip unit with a steel, gold-plated Visconti nib plus grip section (and adding a cartridge converter). I presume the nib has been cannibalised from a contemporary Van Gogh or Rembrandt, but I don't have either of these models, so cannot tell. I like the design, which is my first multi-faceted Visconti, and my first with a magnetic cap. In fact, I much prefer this more modest (less extravagant) design to the bling-bling crown-on-cap version, which I would not have bought. I have filled the pen with Diamine ruby - to match the model - and it writes well (smooth, medium-wet line with some line variation possible). So, I think I essentially have an unusual and (in my eyes) pretty version of the Van Gogh. Does that sound about right? --- end ---
  15. Okay, so today I hit an Estate Sale and snagged a Pacific Pen and Pencil set. Both cleaned up quite nicely and the brass looks good also, but I've never heard of this .....what ....9th tier, lol, company? The nib is the basic Supreme 14K Gold Plate and the pen needs a new sack. Pencil needs lead, lol. The color is beautiful and the emblem looks to be a round leaf-like circle with a P in the middle. Can't find any info anywhere on this!! Has anyone ever heard of such an animal? The nib says nothing of the size, so no clue what size it is. I may have gotten taken on this grouping, but hoping it writes well. Not a real flexible nib, but in good shape. any thought would be be appreciated!!

    Mont Blanc Identifiers.

Hello. I need a little info please. I'm selling a set of 3 Mont Blancs on Craigslist, soon to be on FPN. But, I'm trying to answer some questions from a potential buyer. I believe reading at one point MB quit adding serial numbers to some of the pen series? I have the burgundy set of the Meisterstuck. Is this the correct name for them? I purchase & was gifted w/ them around 1992 or so. I'm quoting his spellings of the questions: "do the serial numbers and Germany on the clip rings"?, do they have the words PIX on the underside of the clips"?, do they come with the original box, service guide and engraving vouchers"? Attached is the ad from Craigslist & a couple of pics of the pens if this will help. I just a need a bit of help in order to give him accurate info. I do thank you for your help & of course I'll do more in-depth research myself. Just have never known of some of this info before... Best, LeRoy
  17. Hi community, my gf's grandfather has passed away earlier this year and we've found this fountain+ballpoint pen amongst his many belongings. I think I was able to identify the fountain pen model with the help of internet (is it Parker 65?) but I can't seem to find any info on this particular "golden looking" set. The best approximation I could find is a similar looking stainless steel model. Was it some kind of limited edition or is it just a common set that nobody seems to be selling on the internet? I don't think it's gold plated as there's no certificate present, but has never been used. Here are some more pictures and closeups: http://imgur.com/a/MWVz1 If anyone can shed any light on this set my gf would be really grateful. Thank you in advance, Romci
  18. Hi, I was hoping for some help identifying this Cross Fountain Pen. If anyone could give me any information at all, it would be much appreciated! Thank you Michelle
  19. Hi! I've uncovered a Waterman that was given to me as a child by my grandparents. If anyone could help me identify the model, I would be most grateful. I would also love to purchase a fine or extra-fine nib; the current medium is much to thick for my day-to-day notes. Any help identifying candidates or instructions for this would also be greatly appreciated. The nib is slightly bent, a product of my childhood, but still writes fine. It has a number 8 on the plastic underside. Thanks! W
  20. Hi Everyone, I'm a fledgling pen collector, and I recently took a risk at a local flea market: I bought an unmarked pen for $15. The pen has a really nice weight to it (1.2 oz) and it has a screw top and when the top is removed, it screws onto the bottom (see pictures). This makes me think it could be something special. But I can find no marking on the pen (nothing on the inside of the clip, either). Can anyone help me identify this pen? If you need any other picture angles, please let me know. Even if its nothing brand-name, it's still a pretty cool pen. Thank you all for your help! I appreciate you all!
  21. Hi everyone, I'm new to FPN and I'm definitely not a fountain pen expert. I prefer ballpoints (gasp) but I've had the good fortune of finding some Parker pens and I need help getting some information. I think their Parker 51's...? If you could provide any information as well as any advice for how to care for them, how to store them, etc. please let me know! Thank you! So here's Pen #1 Doesn't appear to be used; there's no ink inside the pen or anything. Bought it for $38 at a flea market (hoping that was a good deal!) Here's Pens #2-4 They have all been used before, but they still look really nice I bought the red and the black from the same guy for $1 each (yard sale) and the blue one for $20 (flea market) Right now I'm keeping them in a leather case originally intended for colored pencils (another yard sale find). Is that a good way to store them? Should I remove the ink when storing them? Let me know if you need another camera angle to help me. I love these pens and I'm so fortunate that I came across them. Great addition to my collection. Thanks for your help!
  22. A couple of months ago I inherited a pen from my late grandmother. Seeing as I didn't, and still don't know much about fountain pens, I was completely unable to ID it. I accepted that for a while, but when I discovered The Fountain Pen Network I rediscovered my hopes for finding out what this pen is. Unfortunately I don't have too much information on it. The only things I can think of that might help you are: The stamp on the nib that says "Iridium Point Germany", though I've been told that means next to nothing. The fact that it works perfectly with Pelikan 4001 "giant" ink cartridges. I've looked through the Pelikan "Product Finder" to no avail. I don't know if this discounts it being a Pelikan pen entirely, or may just a modern Pelikan pen? Sorry for being so absolutely clueless, and thank you for your help! - Cerek Here are some images of the pen:

    Yet Another Identification Thread

If anyone could be so kind as to name the model and approximate value of this pen, I would be very thankful. http://www.ebay.com/itm/151363912587?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l4451&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI151363912587.N5.S2.M3014.R2.TR14 I didn't think the model name was 'Grey Laque', but I could be very wrong. Thank you.
  24. Hi everyone, I've found a pen in my grandma's drawer. It has a montblanc logo on the cap, the nib also has a montblanc logo and below that there's a caption that says "750" and then "18K / ct". It has a converter which says "Mont Blanc Germany". Other than these, there are no other markings or branding of any kind on it. Can you please help me figure out which model it is?
