  1. Hello, I was just cleaning up my Waterman Hemisphere and found that I did not know how to take the feed and nib out, if that is possible in the first place. I was wondering if somebody would be able to tell me how to disasseble it. Thank you, Nick
  2. Hi! So I have some gradual experience with fountain pens from the last time I wrote on this website. My favorite fountain pens that I have found to be a very smooth writing experience for me are the Pilot pens. I especially love the Prera and I hope that Pilot makes more of the solid-color body ones cause they are my favorite. Anyway, those pens are the ones that really work with me. I tend to use a medium nib on the Pilot fountain pens. Now I know a Japanese medium=western fine. However, I find that Western fine can be too scratchy and that Western mediums can be too broad. I want to find a fountain pen that has the same line consistency as the Pilot mediums found in the Preras, Cavaliers, and the Metropolitans that I use. Even my one Kaweco Sport that is medium is an ideal line for me. So I've been looking at Watermans because I just got a rollerball from them and absolutely loved it, but I wanted to try out their fountain pens since I heard that they are of good quality. However, I'm driving myself mad about the nib and which one I should get. Maybe I'm just overthinking things, but I don't want to get a medium with it being broad and me smearing it because I drag my pen across the paper. However, on the other hand, I don't want to get a fine in case it's too scratchy and the line isn't what I want. Please help me!!! I want to be part of the Waterman gang Also, was wondering if the Waterman, specifically the Havana Brown is fast drying or if Waterman inks are fast-drying inks in general. The Pilot inks are wonderful for me, for it never smears even if I brush my hand over it. However, Kawecos aren't really fast-drying inks which I am very surprised about. I thought they were, so I'm wondering if Waterman is fast-drying. I hope it is in my favor! thanks again for the help! looking forward to your responses!

    Waterman Hemisphere Vs Expert

Hey everyone, I am new to these forums and I have to say I have enjoyed reading thoroughly throughout the forums about Waterman pens, however I did not come across many topics about the kind of 'lower end' (if you might) Waterman Pens and I was wondering, what do you guys think about the Hemisphere and then the Expert, and is it worth the extra money for the Expert? I am not a beginner, I have been writing with fountain pens from the age of around 9, but I have not had chance to purchase a nice pen, and I LOVE watermen pens in general. So expert advice from people who may or may not have these pens would be nice What are your thoughts? And thanks
  4. Hi All, I've been a member of this forum for a while, although a not very active one though (bought a few pens here and there from users of the forum). Sadly, I've managed to break the clip of my beloved Waterman Hemisphere Fountain Pen (Shimmery Blue). Can anyone point me in the direction on where I can get a replacement for it and if I'll need any special tools to replace it? I live in Portugal but I have no problems ordering the part from anywhere in the globe. Thank you for all your help.
  5. Wondering if anyone has information on where to send an almost 20 year old Waterman Ball Pen for repair. This pen is very special, given to me as a gift and heavily used (as you can tell from the picture). I believe this is a Waterman Hemisphere Ball Pen (Model 22002W?), not a 100% sure... The twisting mechanism is broke, it no longer twists (almost as if the inner tube snapped off from the main tube). Thanks Craig

    Black Lacquer On Waterman Pens?

Hi guys, I like the pens designs by Waterman and Iove the black lacquer GT combination. I visited the Waterman website to see the models - Hémisphère, Expert & Carène in this color. Even though black lacquer, the pens color looked different in the photographs (different blacks!). This is what the color description (not title) on each model read. They were also different with the exception of Expert and Carène Essential! Hémisphère Black Fountain Pen GT ...the black and gold duo in superior smooth lacquer... Expert Black Fountain Pen GT ...the deep black of its lacquer... Carène Black Sea Fountain Pen GT ... high-gloss black lacquer... Carène Essential Black and Gold Fountain Pen GT ...deep black lacquer... As you can see the pens finishes in all the photographs looks different even though all of them are black lacquer. A lot of you must have seen and used these pens. Are they any different or is it just the photographs? I need your help. As I unfortunately don't have access to a retail shop to go try out pens and get to know them first hand before purchasing them. Do black lacquer pens more easily attract micro scratches than the rest of the finishes even when handled with care? If so how can I care for these pens so that the finish lasts? Thank you in advance guys & gals for all your input! Hope your answers help a whole lot of newbies. Pete :")
  7. Hi everyone! I'm pretty new here, so I hope this kind of post is okay (tell me if it isn't). I have a question about two Waterman fountain pens I own. There are very similiar, both marble-ish blue, but one is a bit darker than the other. The caps of the pens differ slightly, one of the caps has a logo on it and the other doesn't. I have owned and used these pens for years without really knowing what kind of fountain pens they are. I have a suspicion that they might be Waterman Hemispheres but the recent Hemispheres look really different. I didn't buy them myself, they were a gift from my grandfather (who doesn't remember them, sadly). Do any of you know what pen this is? http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z480/Heldinnen/IMAG1179_zpscwfbin8x.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z480/Heldinnen/IMAG1181_zpsezfpkjuv.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z480/Heldinnen/IMAG1182_zpsmsvga1en.jpghttp://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z480/Heldinnen/IMAG1180_zpsmw2uqwvl.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z480/Heldinnen/IMAG1183_zpsnwgo1xjr.jpg Thanks in advance!

    Is This A Fake ?

My cousin purchased this Waterman fountain pen, which from the style looks like a hemisphere. On further inspection, it appears to me to be a really good replica. I've come to this decision as there were a few differences to my hemisphere. I would really like to establish if this is a replica, or an older style of the hemisphere. Muavia

How Rare Is This Waterman Hemisphere Finish?

Not long ago as a present, my grandfather gave me his old(at least 12 years old) Waterman Hemisphere fountain pen. After doing some research I found out that the finish I got is unenviable on the official site. The pen's barrel and cap are a dark blue colour and the clip and other finishes are golden. In addition on the box it says Leganza. Can someone tell me more about how rare the finish is and a bit of backup information?

    New Hemisphere With Flow Issues

Hello! I'm new on FPN, and mostly new to fountain pens. I've used cheap pens, but nothing more serious until now. I have just bought a new Waterman Hemisphere, but I immediately found it has some flow problems. Specifically, it is a hard starter, the first letter of a word is usually missing. Not exactly every word, but always the first word when I start writing. It can also skip in the middle of a line, though this is more uncommon. I have already googled a bit, and I have read this topic on FPN: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/259353-hemisphere-flow-issue/ I know enough to keep it capped when not using it, so I don't think it is because of ink drying. I have tried washing it, first with water, and then with water and a drop of dishwashing liquid (and then more water afterwards to remove dishwashing liquid), but it hasn't helped. I use a converter filled with Pelikan Edelstein Tanzanite ink, could this ink be at fault? Finally, I live in Sweden and bought the pen online. I have absolutely no idea where to find someone to look at or fix my pen in Sweden, fountain pens seems to be unknown here. So I very much hope that this is not "baby's bottom", because if it is I don't know what to do about it. How do I diagnose the problem?
  11. Well I just got my waterman hemisphere along with a converter,I usually use catridges so I've been pretty much been using watermann intense black and Florida blue on my old waterman Phileas.Since I have a converter now I've decided to get some inks to experiment around.Any suggestions? And I've grown a small liking for the Mont Blanc midnight blue, but some people have been telling me that it could clog my pen due to iron gall and so on.Anyone have tried it before?
