  1. Hi! My dad bought these pens for like $3 dollars today, does anyone know which parker pens they are exactly? Thanks in advance!
  2. The Visconti Kakadu LE has only been produced in a very limited number of 100 pens in the Australian market only. I am purchasing the last one which is the 100/100 model number. I was wondering if 650 dollars excluding shipping is too much for such a pen? Apparently it's only been inked twice in its lifetime. I've scoured the forums to find out as much information on prior purchases and I've seen the pen sold twice once for 375 and once for 450. I should note that the pens sold prior were in 2008 and 2010. As of 2016, maybe there is price inflation due to how more exclusive the pen is now. Should I back out of this deal? Please note I only have a single day to decide as if already sent the money and the pen won't be shipped until Monday. I hope someone can offer me their help. Here is the link to the seller's classified post. Note it is not public for commenting this seems like a red flag to me. I've never really purchased a limited edition pen before so I would like to hear from someone before asking the buyer to renegotiate the buying price. Thank you all. EDIT: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/classifieds/item/42087-visconti-kakadu-limited-edition/ All positive feedback, he is definitely legit, no doubt about that. I just want your opinion on the price. =)

    [Help] Natal Plum Ink

Hello, I am interested in making ink for personal and shared use. I noticed that there are Natal plums readily available in my front porch. I picked around 10 and wanted to know if an ink can be made from them. The natal plum fruits are ripe and edible.

    Hi! I'm New Here!

Hey! My name's Calvin, and I'm just getting into fountain pens! I'm 18, and I've been lurking for months in the community. Not here so much, but on JetPens, CultPens, Goulet (most of all), YouTube, etc. I just stumbled across my grandpa's old aerometric Parker 51 and his Snorkel Sentinel... about an hour after I bought 2 bottles of ink and an Edison Nouveau Premier. Anyway, I'm excited to get into this! I've written with fountain pens a little bit and I absolutely love them. I love smooth writing stuff. I use 4B lead in my pencils, and I look forward to some nice smooth nibs! And also... how do I post an ad in the classifieds? I can't seem to figure it out. I'm sure I'm just being stupid, but this is a serious question. I have a Rotring 600 Gold to sell and want to post an ad here... but I'm too much of a dunce to figure it out! Where's the "Post new ad" button?! Thanks, have a great day!!!
  5. Alrighty so i`ve been eyeing on the Pt 3776 century SF in chartes blue and the pilot CH91 SF too...now im in a dilemma since I equally love the pilot for its nib and 3776 for its writing and look......i like softness line variation and an "aurora-ish" feel which the pilot lacks and since cost is a real consideration here and moreover since im in India the conversion rates do go up a bit, i prefer the pilot since its like $10 cheaper than the 3776 but AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH I CANT JUST DECIDE SOMEONE PLZ HELP MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Is this normal or is this broken as I can't seem to get the part to secure back into the pen.
  7. Hi everyone, I'm a fairly new and definitely inexperienced collector (and I'm 21-years-old). I've loved pens for several years, but I don't have a lot of money to spend on pens. However, something amazing happened: long story short, my brother (not a pen collector) wants to give me ~$1,000 to buy the pen of my dreams. This isn't a minor decision for me -- this pen will become, by far, the most expensive thing I own. The problem? I had no clue I'd ever have this much money to spend on a pen. And so I really don't know what to get. My brother and I went to the MB store and we looked at the new Shakespeare WE. It was very nice, and I have a good connection with Shakespeare's work. I went home and looked at the Fitzgerald WE online bc I love the Great Gatsby. It's tough to tell without actually seeing the pen, but it looks a bit less aesthetically appealing than the Shakespeare (also, I don't know much of anything about the symbolism other than the Art Deco design). Anyways, I have a few questions: 1. Can you suggest any pens in the ~1,000 price range? 2. I've read a bit about the Fitzgerald WE online. Does anyone have any reviews? I tend to like a heavy pen that's just a little bit thicker than the Meiserstuck. 3. What is a good price range to pay for the Fitzgerald WE? I'm assuming the best way to buy the Shakespeare is full retail through the MB store? It's not like I'm looking to sell this pen (no matter what it is, it will have a lot of sentimental value coming from my brother), but I don't want to get ripped off or buy at the top of the market.

    Is This A Fake ?

My cousin purchased this Waterman fountain pen, which from the style looks like a hemisphere. On further inspection, it appears to me to be a really good replica. I've come to this decision as there were a few differences to my hemisphere. I would really like to establish if this is a replica, or an older style of the hemisphere. Muavia
  9. Hey guys I'm wanting to start collecting pens, I've found a nice montblanc 032p for sale and I'm considering purchasing it, the details that I have received are posted below Model: Montblanc 032P Construction year: between 1967 and 1970 Colour: black System: cartridge system Size: 5,11 inches Nib: 14ct goldnib in M size Condition: near mint condition Features and informations about this pen:You are bidding for a Montblanc 032P in black. This model was produced between 1967-1970. The pen is the same like the MB 32 but with a special sign at the end of the barrel. The nib size is M. The name Montblanc and the respective model number were always engraved on the cap band. Special on this model is the yellow point at the end of the barrel. This yellow dot shows that it is a cartridge pen. The fountain pen has no scratches or dents and comes in a near mint condition. What I'm trying to find out is what is a reasonable amount of money to pay for this pen,as I said I am new so ANY help would be greatly appreciated
  10. Hello, Hopefully I've decided on the right section to ask this question. I am currently dating someone who is from Taiwan. He enjoys using fountain pens (and rarely uses any other writing instrument) so I had decided that, as part of his Christmas gift this year, I would get him 2 pens: one from Taiwan (to represent where he was born) and one from Canada (where we reside now). I am fairly certain I have been able to locate a local pen maker where I will purchase the Canadian pen but I am having a difficult time discovering what legitimate brands are out there from Taiwan. I have been able to look at an online store for TY Lee and I've looked at the Tenny site but, as both of them are in Chinese, I'm a little hesitant to settle on something as of yet. If anyone has any assistance they can provide, whether it be a good retailer or even just some brands to look out for, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you! - Samantha

    Custom Fountain Pen

Hey guys. I was watching a video, and in this video, the chap said and showed a fountain pen which was custom designed which he got made in Australia. I was impressed and never knew that you could do such a thing. I really want a custom tailored fountain pen, how ever do not know where to get one made from as I live in the UK. Do you guys know any reputable company which can do this for me at a moderate price (10 to 50 pounds). Doesn't matter if it's over seas, as I could get it delivered. Can't wait to hear from you all !

    Dip Pen Identification

Hi guys. I've purchased this dip pen, and know nothing about it, apart from its French. Can you please help me know more about it. Thanks in advance.
  14. I have a Parker pen that is in immaculate condition and from the Ryder Cup in 1993. It has been sitting on a draw for a prolonged period of time and has never been used. I would really appreciate someone's help as to how much it is worth. It is a fountain pen and not a roller and has some IBM branding on the lid. I really appreciate the help, thank you.
  15. Hi everyone! My mother loves these pens, and recently made comments about how she lost her set yada yada.. So i like to make stuff with polymer clay, and recent saw a video on making a ink well holder and a nib pen in a fariy-ish theme. and thought awesome I can make mom a sea themed one. As i was looking on line i see there are more then one type of nib, and I am not rely wanting to make a new pen for every nib, lol So i have a few questions. 1) Are all nibs the same sized around the top part that is inserted into the pen handle? 2) Were can I get a good set of same sized nibs that would be interchangeable with the one pen handle? 3) Where could I get a good ink well/bottle(empty no ink). and is there a type that has something like a removable liner inside.( I want to build around the bottle, but I want her to be able to wash it with out washing the whole piece. 4) Dose the size of the handle matter? And what ever else you think i might need to know. I have been going crazy try to research all this and all I am doing is giving myself a migraine. And i could ask my mother this stuff but shes the type of person who's like WTH do wana know that for Lmao. So asking her is shooting myself in the foot.
  16. I was gifted this pen by my father. I have one other fountain pen, which i don't use often. This specific fountain i've been doing a lot of research on because i feel it would be in better use with someone else. The only problem is I cannot find a price for it. Through the research I have found it to be a "Cartier Limited Edition Louis Cartier 100 Years in America Centennial Fountain Pen" that sounds like quite the pen to me. I unfortunately don't use it and neither does my father. So I am here trying to see how much these go for, since it was so hard to find out about it in the first place, i figured its a pricey pen. So i don't want to just send it off to any random person. I would want it to go to the right person. If someone out there could provide more information for me, I'd be very appreciative of the help.

    Pilot Alag W22

Hello, I have purchased a Pilot AlAG W22 (According to the sticker on the barrel) and it is in amazing condition, except the bladder which has multiple holes and is twisted from sun damage. I have spent about a week searching for this pen, or at least one like it, and have come up dry. The seller believes that it was made in the 1960's, but is not the original owner and does not have much knowledge about fountain pens. I do not want to have it "restored" because it is in beautiful condition and has never been used. If anyone knows about this pen, or how to find a new bladder for it, this information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Can This Pen Be Save? Or Is It Dead

  19. Hi guys, it has been a long time that I am struggling for legible and good handwriting, I went through different types of handwriting, first I wrote in cursive but never became fluent with it then I tried separate words but were looking kind of childish writing, then I wrote on middle of the line then again I jumped back on the line with different techniques of writing, so I came to this form so that you good people can help me improve my handwriting. My one more problem is that I can write in more than 20 styles (2 of which are attached in the photo) this has became problem for me because which one style should I finalize and choose. My handwriting attached in this photo are 2 writings, open photo it will be named "1" and "2" in other photo attached (written in red colour on the photo) so you people can distinguish between two different handwritings of mine, my both handwritings in both pics are legible means I can write it fast and fluent but tell me by looking at the photo that is such writing acceptable or not and which one should I choose, thanks.
  20. Hi, I found two (abandoned) fountain pens in my dad's old pen holder. He doesn't remember what they are, they're pretty old. One is a Sheaffer and the other is a Parker. He reckons they are probably beginner/starter fountain pens. I've attached the photos. On the nib.. it says: SHEAFFER USA 585 14k It uses a cartridge, and I'm planning to buy a converter for this since I happen to have a bottle of ink.. so I need the model of this pen. Thank you

    Fpn Passaporto Question?

Hello, new FPNer here. I have always wanted a Stipula Passaporto clear demonstrator, but have never jumped on it due to that posting issue. I knew the FPN version had threads to post, so I went to the store and currently, the pictures show blue Passaportos, but it doesn't look like there are threads on the back for posting. Can anyone confirm this please? Also, sorry if anyone knows how I could get a clear Passaporto, rather than translucent blue, that also has the threads on the back, I would be interested to know. Thanks, sorry if this is in the wrong place.
  22. I need help. The barrel of my Nemosine Singularity is screwed on so tight I can't get it to budge. I've tried putting it under cold water, cold water and soap, paper towels, Clorox wipes, and even a little rubber shaped hand that we use to open jars. Nothing is helping this time so it is sitting in my drawer. I would like to change the cartridge eventually. At least cartridge is still full despite not in use for 1-3 months!
  23. Hello, For long writing sessions (think 1-2 hrs plus of notes, I'm a grad student) I am fond of my pilot Kakuno. The main downside of the Kakuno is that there is no way to check the ink level without removing the back of the pen. It also does not have a pocket clip. Can anyone recommend a pen with a similar grip pattern to the Kakuno (the triangular grip sections which forces you to use proper form?) I know LAMY pens have a similar pattern as does the Pelikano Junior. I have not been able to try either yet. I think the Pelikanos are all opaque which wouldn't be any different from the Kakuno. Are there any higher end, non student pens that also use grip sections? I know I could theoretically order a custom pen but budget wise that's not feasible for me at present.
