Hi, My Platinum Music Nib with italic cursive customization of nibs.com arrived some weeks ago and this is may first post about it. I like the pen and the music nib is a pleasure to write. Here's a little sample of my handwriting with my new fountain pen. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oehUvL7GRko/Uegnk9k6J_I/AAAAAAAAAcU/FgDlngCGIw8/s400/photo+(4).JPG full size picture at my blog

Any Advice/comments On My Handwritting Is Appreciated
jonathanlai928 posted a topic in Calligraphy Discussions
Dear FPN, Hi everyone, I've always had split up or not joint handwriting and I only very recently started writing in curive due to my interest for the world of fountain pens and calligraphy. I've been learning mostly from Youtube actually but have added my own character to my handwriting. A Copperplate book that I have ordered is on its way and a Copperplate-like style is what I'm aiming for but obviously, I'm far from it. It really would be great if anyone could give me a little advice and even things like "your A's are messed up" is fine. Lastly, just want to say, this is my everyday functional handwriting written using a Waterman Hemisphere and Noodlers Black ink. Hoper it is'nt too difficult to read and thanks in advance! Sincerely, Jonathan Also I'm just wondering for a flex or italic nib, are you meant to hold the pen so the downstrokes or flattest part of the nib are perpendicular to the lines on the page for example? Not the best quality picture sorry.- 12 replies

Hi, I found the handwriting on the superimposed recipe cards in this image particularly elegant and pleasant to read. What is its provenance? What is this style called? Are examples of this style available in sources that come to mind? What are some similar handwriting styles? I'm really glad there's a community of experts here to offer insight. Thanks!

I'm curious because my interest on fountain pens brought me back to the calligraphy sheets and the intent to relearn cursive writing after 25 years of print writing (engineering school is to blame). My choice is number 4. I also believe choice 5 is not getting a single vote, but one never knows. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-confused009.gif . What about you? Best Regards, Marcelo
