    New Tibaldi Bononia

Hi, has anyone else seen the new version of the Bononia that Tibaldi is introducing? The red/orange one looks pretty good, and the feed is ebonite. http://www.giardino.it/pens/tibaldi/bononia.php?utm_source=4Dem&utm_medium=Email-Marketing-4Dem&utm_content=Subscriber%2315968&utm_campaign=Prevendita%20EN%20Visconti%20e%20Tibaldi
  2. I know that many of you already know this (all those who receive my newsletters! ) But now that all my subscribers have had the chance to choose colors and models, I would like point out to all forum people this close-out sale of the last Stipula Vedo, at approx 50% of their real price. The series is called Vedo because all the fountain pens have a transparent section on the barrel; both those with converter and those with piston filling system, where the whole tank is transparent. For the updated availability, I refer you to my website: anyway, there are still a couple of black piston filled pens and some pink ones; while converter filled pens are still available in all colors. And more, there are also rollerballs and ballpens, in the same colors. The offer includes a free ink bottle each fountain pen. For ballpen and roller, a small complimentary Moleskin-type notepad. All the pens come in their beautiful Stipula red boxes, with regular warranty. It seemed to me ideal for small gifts... (Please be patient with the photos, I took them myself with my mobile!)

    Stipula Nibs

I recently interviewed Luca Viti - Stipula's business partner and head of the pens’ department - because we re-started a business relationship after a few years off. As I wrote in the interview's introduction, "I missed the Stipulas. They are beautiful, interesting, and charming pens. They remind me of those prim-and-proper ladies: they won’t surprise you with the latest fashion, but will never look out of place." Well, apart from the aesthetics, I found out that Stipula now produces its own nibs, because a few years ago bought an old nib factory with all old equipments and started producing home-made nibs. Not only gold. They also make a steel calligraphic nib (they called it V-Flex) that is more flexible and performing than many gold nibs. Here you find the whole interview: http://blog.giardino.it/2019/12/stipula-is-back/
  4. Our close-out sale of Aurora Archivi Storici is going to end. They're modern pens, but made with old original mechanisms from the '50s, available in sterling silver or chromed or golden versions. Their nib is 14Kt gold, original of that time; unique size (M) which writes a medium/fine line. Filling system is trik-trak converter (not included) or cartridge. They were already proposed at amazing prices, after I bought all the left stock; but now they're even more reduced, so you really can't leave them here! Still available: Sterling silver fountain pen http://www.giardino.it/pens/aurora/IMMAGINI/archivi010ap.jpg Golden fountain pen http://www.giardino.it/pens/aurora/IMMAGINI/archivi018ap.jpg Until stock lasts. Good luck!

    Homo Sapiens Elegance

Visconti is releasing a new Homo Sapiens, hopefully next week. It's made in black polished resin, with palladium rings and trims. Visconti said it's a more practical model, for a daily use, because of the material and the filling system, that here is converter/cartridge, even for the Oversize model. It's a bit less expensive, though. http://www.giardino.it/pens/IMMAGINI/copHSelegance.jpg
  6. Napkin, despite its name, is an Italian company that produce innovative objects, among which the Forever pens, so called because they will write forever, with no ink or refills or leads - or other consumable parts. AERO Pininfarina - just awarded with the Red Dot Award 2017 for the Product Design category - is a strange pen, light and futuristic. Its body features a twisted hole that evokes the infinity symbol, made with satin aluminium and electric blue lacquer. And its basement, on the contrary, is not light at all: it's raw concrete. It's not a ballpen, nor a pencil (nor a fountain pen, of course!). It writes almost like a pencil, makes a grey line only on paper, and not on fabric or other materials.
  7. It's actually a pencil, but there isn't any wood body that includes the graphite lead. http://www.giardino.it/pens/napkin/IMMAGINI/PerpetuaColori.jpg Its name is Perpetua, made by Napkin (an Italian company, despite its name). It is made of Zantech, an innovative material composed of 80% of recycled industrial graphite that thanks to special rubber polymers is agglomerated into a solid stick. The colored end is a rubber, integrated during the injection phase. It's clean, non-toxic, resilient if dropped or knocked, it can be tempered but writes even without tips. http://www.giardino.it/pens/napkin/IMMAGINI/PerpetuaPart.jpg And I love it! (only black, as far as now)

New Omas 360 Vintage In Celluloid

Omas is going to release the 2014 version of the 360 Vintage, and this year they are proposing it in two colors of celluloid: Arco and Wild http://www.giardino.it/pens/omas/IMMAGINI/360vintageArco.jpg http://www.giardino.it/pens/omas/IMMAGINI/360vintageWild.jpg Each color is offered with several trims: yellow gold, rose gold and rhodium for the Arco; rose gold, ruthenium and rhodium for the Wild. 36 pieces each. Not for sale, yet: the pens will be released on July 21st. The good news is that you can book them now in my website. The extremely good news is that I'm running a promotion about the booking's down payment (Euro 70) matched at ordering... come and see
  9. Storia is a new brand that I recently added in my website. It's a small company, located in Bolzano, the furthest north of Italy, where few skilled artisans work with special woods and produce beautiful pens. Look: http://www.giardino.it/pens/storia/IMMAGINI/ItaliaAp.jpg Italia http://www.giardino.it/pens/storia/IMMAGINI/VeneziaAp.jpg Venezia http://www.giardino.it/pens/storia/IMMAGINI/TorinoAp.jpg Torino Precious and exotic woods, like cocobolo, thuya, movingui, olive, palissandro. Fountain pens and rollerballs. I published an article in my Blog, with an interview to Mr. Testa, owner, designer, artisan: "If it’s true we write to remember, to prevent time to blur our memories, it’s also true the tool we use for writing can be itself an object belonging to history. Storia’s pens surely are. Storia is a company based in Bolzano, northern Italy, founded by a brave entrepreneur of Rome, Federico Testa. He designs and handcrafts his pens by himself, producing them in precious woods and metals: “Jewels for writing,” as he describes them. Indeed, there is much to be told about them. (...) “Each of our pens is a unique and irreproducible object – Federico Testa explains -: the model can be the same in design, but it will always have its unique features. We are talking of handcrafted pens, made out of precious raw woods, chosen for their peculiar features of tenderness and resistance". Read more >>>

    Pelikan 200 Cognac

I just received from Pelikan these new pens, very very nice: 200 COGNAC, special edition. http://www.giardino.it/pens/pelikan/IMMAGINI/200cognacAp.jpg "Special edition" because they're going to be produced in limited quantity for a limited time: Pelikan often makes these productions that last few months and no more. They're not numbered, but anyway they will be discontinued. It's a smallish pen (length, closed: cm. 12,5), transparent, amber-cognac color, piston filled, gold plated nib. Available in Giardino Italiano (I wrote about this pen, and other new arrivals, in the latest article of my Blog: "Spring 2014 novelties: pens blossom at Giardino")
