  1. One of my newest accquistions is the Sailor Young Somiko Fountain pen in M nib. This is my first Sailor pen. I had bought it from pensindia.com, a subsidary of the famous engeika.com which provided japanese writing instruments. The service was quick and I was happy with Mr. Raul from pensindia who handles my correspondence promptly. All I can say is I am happy with their product and I will patronise them in the future (Disclaimer: No relation to pensindia.com or engeika.com) PACKAGING The pen comes in a small cardboard pack which houses a plastic pen case. The case contains the pen itself
  2. Hi! I'm looking for a good fountain pen. I'm a high-school student, I write very much (I use up a Platinum Preppy cartridge in about 2.5 days!), and I'm relativley new to fountain pens, I've only used a Preppy. I take apart/fix/modify/lose/break/bite my pens. So most of my pens are short lived... (I already managed to crack my Preppy after a week of usage) So I need a good pen in the $20-$30 category. I also have quite small hands. I live in Middle Europe. And I want a kind of a "cool" pen, but not too flashy, though this isn't a priority. I also like fine nibs. I also need the pen to suppor
  3. Hey, I take a lot of notes at school, and usually carry cheap, lined paper sheets in my binder. My inks tend to have a lot of bleedthrough and feather on the cheap paper, and i was wondering if there is a company that sells lined paper sheets made for fountain pens. I know i could just use a notebook, but it makes it frustrating not being able to have individual sheets to work on. If anyone knows of any paper that would suit my needs, please leave a responce. Thanks Mutton
  4. Hello FPN friends, I recently obtained this lovely Sheaffer pen in a trade with a redditor. I don't know what it is, or how old it is, and I was hoping one of you experts could help me ID my new friend. It is an eyedropper fill, if that makes a difference, but I am not certain it was originally an eyedropper. Here are some photos, not the best quality, sorry! I'm not great at photographing pens. https://www.flickr.com/gp/k8seren/9iyG6n/ Thanks for reading!
  5. Hello, I am handwriting lover, in school, in college etc I always focused on my handwriting, I used to be obsessed that much with my handwriting that I used to change my handwriting daily in the school but after a long journey of this I finally made my hand legible enough to get a better grip on paper, so I have uploaded a sample of my handwriting here, my question is that 1) tell me that what type of handwriting is this? 2) Is this handwriting suitable for exams? 3) Is it legible and easy to read? 4) Is my handwriting beautiful good looking or bad looking? 5:) Should I continue to write like

My Parker 51 Writes Like A Desert: Dry.

Ok, so I recently found a Parker 51 vacumatic in Cordovan Brown in a local antique store, and I got it back from being repaired last week. The nib, while not scratchy, is very...dry. There is no lubrication at all from the ink, and the ink I put in (MB Toffee Brown) is normally a good performer. I watched Steven Brown's video on nib modification a while back, but the methods that he proposed didn't seem safe for the hooded 51. Any suggestions, or should I just buckle and dip into my shallow college student wallet to buy a medium Octanium nib?

  8. Hey there, I just bought a Lamy Safari for everyday use in school and all of that fun stuff. However, I really want to learn more styles such as Copperplate and Spencerian. From what I've heard: I need a pen with a flex nib. My question to you all: 1. Which pen do you recommend that has a good nib with good flexibility for Copperplate? Dip pen or fountain pen? Please be specific I am a student, so I have given my self a budget of 100$. Thanks In Advance, mountainrider

Help Id & Authenticate This Mb Please!

Hello, May someone please help me identify, and authenticate this MB fountain pen? I believe it's classic, but on the box it shows "1995 Montblanc" which doesn't seem to add up with the years of a classic pen? If I walked into a MB store, do you think they'll be able to authenticate it with it being so old? Do they authenticate at all in general? I live many hours away from one, and would hate to show up and get no help. I would greatly appreciate any help/ advice! **I apologize the quality is wonderful as I'm using a camera phone.
  10. SHORT EBONITE PEN. Please see my latest ebonite pen. Inspired by the shape of an old Indian pen – Oliver Bauna – A short stout “ egg “ shaped pen. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3700/12379095953_f834886640.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7317/12379096453_4976d543c3.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3718/12378939415_f4ae263a5f.jpg http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2888/12379383544_3350290899.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3681/12379383184_f85a43fc00.jpg Ambitious Medium nib kindly contributed by Kevin of Fountain Pen Revolution. 11. I heard the country of manufacture for these pens is on the box.packaging, but because I bought it from a second hand store, I did not get any of the original packaging. I've been trying to research the net where my Cross ATX Matte Chrome Fountain Pen is made in, but I cannot find anything conclusive. Would anyone have any ideas as to how I can find this out?
  12. Hello everyone! I really want to buy a Pelikan, and am indecisive of buying either a Pelikan m200 or spending more and buying the Pelikan m400. What are the differences. Im mainly interested in knowing the differences on nib writing quality, writing performance, and the pleasure you have in writing with the pens, however feel free to chime in and tell me more differences. Also, I would very much like to hear which one you prefer. Thanks!
