I love this pen although it does not work at the moment and needs a full overhaul. However, the nib itself as beautiful as it is, reminds me of a kid with braces. How the heck do you get it completely clean. I have soaked and wiped but it still has ink in the nooks and crannies of the slider and such.........

I just bought this Whal-Eversharp Doric Airliner (I believe it is) and there is one problem with it. Part of the barrel where the lever is has been warped outward. I'm am wondering if there is a way to fix it or someone I can send my pen to to fix it for me. Thanks. http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww191/ParkerDeanPeterson/temporary-24.jpg

Hello, I have been to an antique mall in my area today, and I discovered a cluster of writing instruments. I wasn't able to really look at everything as I was really pressed for time, but I did glimpse a Wahl Eversharp Doric pencil in green. It is one of the models with a little gold medallion above the clip. My question is: If I were to buy this pencil, how much could I reasonably expect to sell it for ? I do not have a Doric, and do not foresee the funds appearing to acquire one, so why would I need the pencil!? Also, I would not want to remove a pencil from the market that someone else could be using to complete a set. I will be able to return to the antiques mall tomorrow to check it out, maybe even buy it. They also had a Parker 21 (with matching pencil) in a Parker 51 box, and maybe some other pens, I was only able to get a glimpse inside the case before rushing off. Hopefully my ramblings are at least slightly understandable. Thanks

I have a Doric with a #6 adjustable nib as well as the ink shut off feature which still seems to have a great working spring. However I need someone to work on the inside parts. I can take care of the nib and any body work on my own. I would prefer someone with references and plenty of experience with Dorics. If you are able to work on Dorics please message me privately with contact information and estimates. If you have a website please send a link.

Hi all I have mainly been a lurker on FPN, but I have a question. I impulsively bought a Doric off of EBay, for around $100.00. I really shouldn't be spending any more money on pens till I fix, repair and sell some of my collection. However I jumped in the auction and managed to land the pen. According to the description it is a manifold nib. I have been reading about Dorics a little here and there and I see some pens came with an adjustable nib. Did I overpay for the pen since it has a manifold nib? Pen looks to be in good condition, it would I am sure need a new ink sac. Should I attempt the ink sac repair myself or leave it to the professionals? Who would you have repair the pen? Should I consider putting a flex nib in it or leave it alone?
