    De Atramentis: Cement Grey

http://inks.pencyklopedia.pl/wp-content/uploads/De-Atramentis-Cement-Grey-nazwa.png I present to test the ink De Atramentis Cement Grey, who probably had to be gray, and it is more green with a touch of gray. Like most inks De Atramentis has good characteristics and drying time. Color presented reminds me a bit of ink Private Reserve Grey Flannel, with that here added a little more green. I like the gray ink, but with the addition of more blue than green. Despite this, I recommend! De Atramentis Highlighter Inks

De Atramentis Highlighter Inks Hello All Just like a lot of ink companies carry the same ink colours like Royal Blue. So too De Atramentis was inspired by Pelikan The inks are smooth and wet as always with De Atramentis inks and they are truly lighting see the comparison wiht true Pelikan Highlghters down here The inks are quickly drying smooth and do neither bleed nor show through on decent paper De Atamentis Hightighter Ink Yellow As with most yellow inks the Yellow is not very legible. In this case I do not find that much of a problem since it was not meant for normal writing it is a Highlighter ink and job it does fine In Vomitus Veritas De Atramentis Highlighter Ink Green In Contrary to the yellow ink the green is quite legible In Vomitus Veritas Availability Of Course the de Atramentis Website https://www.de-atramentis.com/testrubrik/?language=en&currency=USD My Favourite Suppliers are Rick and Dennis of La Coronne Du Comte https://www.lacouronneducomte.nl/index_en.html Nope I am not affiliated Wanna See Wanna Try? 4. De Atramentis is german manufacturer of calligraphy and writing ink. The inks are hand made (the entire production process is done manually in their manufacturing center) by i's founder - Dr. Franz-Josef Jensen. I believe he uses high quality dyes from well established European companies like BASF and Bayer. De Atramentis offers a variety of "traditional" fountain pen inks and a broad selection of special and scented inks. I believe they should get more attention as the quality od these fluids is rather good and many of the colors are simply stunning. Document inks are permanent and waterproof. I confirm - water does nothing to them. Time will tell if light influences them in any way. The colors are: Blue Brown Dark Blue Fuchsia Green Red Turquoise YellowTurquoise looks juicy while you write but once it dries the color becomes muted. Waterproofness is stunning, dry time is great, it feathers a little bit on some papers when used in broad nibs. I haven't observed bleedthrough. The colors are: Blue Blue-Black Brown Fuchsia Green Red Turquoise YellowGreen is fairluy well saturated and lubticated ink although you'll see significant saturation difference betweek Kaweco Classic Sport broad nib and Waterman Hemisphere's fine nib. It's natural but I've decided to show it to you anyway. The color is OK but I prefer greener greens. This one leans too much toward blue. Drying time is excellent but there's a drawback to it - the ink tends to feather on some papers, especially when used in broader nibs. 8. De Atramentis BOOKWORM scented ink Is it an Ink or is it a Stink? http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Ink%20Bottle%202%20FPN_zpszy5wrsrs.jpg Dear FPN Friends I am a great fan of De Atramentis http://www.de atramentis.comthe small family run business of the utterly passionate and friendly Dr.Franz- Josef Jansen. This company produces over 255 hand inks.... HANDMADE in GERMANY Until now I was not really a fan of scented inks... But er that has changed abruptly now.... why... Well as some of you might know from my profile I am a READING ADDICT and an INKOHOLIC.... De Atramentis has made a lovely dark green ink with the smell of OLD BOOKS AND ANCIENT LIBRARIES... that is like heroine to a drug addict http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/reading%20room%20and%20book%20worm_zpsts0ik79k.jpg Our little reading room and a detail picture of one of our bookshelfs ( a bit of a language mess books are in Dutch, German and English ) De Atramentis Bookworm Ink http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Bookworm%20drawing%20FPN_zpscwojim6y.jpg Sorry I am not a great artist my Bookworm at the bottom looks more like the kind of " worm" that gets women pregnant and produces children The text on the book does neither express my personal believes nor my political views... In my humble opinion there is no room for that here. It is also NOT meant to offend people in anyway... I saw it merely as a practical joke But maybe it inspires people to read more books and may be it inspires people to do some more critical thinking and helps people to looks at hings from different angles and perspectives.... Welll that is a good thing after all I guess http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Bookworm%20sampler%20FPN_zpszp6fuqly.jpg own here are some of the technical specs (as suggested by Ann Finley 2007) (not copied in but for this ink) points 1-5 1 = 5= Fountain Pens: Online Best Writer 0,8 italic nib, Kaweco Calligrapy Classic Sport 1,5 Italic Paper: Vleveka Classic Line Paperand ordinary copying paper Drying time: EXTREMELY FAST nib points 5 Flow: very smooth even in both the cheap and potenitally scratchy Dip Pens points: 5 Lubrication: wet points: 5 Feathering : None points 5 Bleeding: nada points 5 Shading: AWESOME points: % Waterproof: goof points: 4 Package: only i glass bottles Availabilty: De Atramentis http://www.de-atramentis .com For the Sake of Humanity I ho e that these inks will be available all over the world and it's surroundings SOON! Maybe I write the always friendly Rik and Dennis of http://la.couronneducomte.nl an E-mail..... They are always willing to help us FPN-ers Rik told me no problem what you need we can almost always order it The Colour Deep dark green. I would call it pine forest green or moss green... Just lke i called the green of the De Atramentis Jane Austen Ink https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/262586-lovely-liquids-de-atramentis-jane-austen-green/ Ink Vomit on a normal paper with a bit of a blowjob http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Ink%20vomit%202%20FPN_zpsriq10u0y.jpg Ink vomit on kitchen paper http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/ink%20vomit%20FPN_zpsvik14vw2.jpgWaterproof Comparion of D-A Bookworm and D-A Jane Austen http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/comp%20jane%20bookworm%20FPN_zpsmx3ttipd.jpg It appears to me that the basis of the Jane Austen and the Bookworm is similar.... Colours are very much a like... But beautiful in my opinion The Scent Does this ink has a nice smell.... In my opinion YES!!! OLD BOOKS!!!. I can Imagine that this is not to everyones liking. The scent is very decent though. After a few days there is only as smell left if your nose is close to the paper.... This make it suitable for everyday work.... Only the Connaisseur will know Ink Behaviour http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a617/Morbus_Curiositas/De%20Atramentis%20Bookworm/Bookworm%20Handtest%20FPN_zpsikfisqfs.jpg The ink behaves excellently.... No feathering at all. Showthrough is very little and is even acceptable withbroader nibs The inks is very wet and smoot but very quickly drying.... Maybe this is an ink you should consider if you are a lefthand writer.... Because of it's wetness and excellent lubrication the writng experience is very smooth... Even in potentially scratchy (0.8 italic) nibs Waterproof This ink had a 1-hour Jacques Cousteau diving experience in a bowl of water.... Although the colour and the scent have vanished..... The words are completely and utterly legible.... Another reason why this ink is excellent for work Verdict This is my first scented ink and I like it. As a reading addict it is sort of a musthave . The colour is very much a like of that of the De Atramentis Jane Austen.... (but with a little extra haha) A lovely dark green..... I it Regards Peter
  9. De Atramentis fountain pen inks are hand made in Germany by Dr. Franz-Josef Jansen, and come in a 35ml glass bottle. The company has been producing inks for about 30 years so there is a proven track record here. These inks are said to be hand made - the entire production process is done manually in the manufacturing center. The thing that influence their quality and, sadly, price is the fact that Dr. jansen uses only dyes from well established german companies like BASF. De Atramentis inks are sold in 35 ml glass bottles. I enjoy the way this bottle look and I find them practical. Some of DA inks come in black glass that's supposed to protect the ink from light. I enjoy trying products of smaller companies, especially the ones that creators put a lot of heart and energy in developing their business and products. I believe Dr. Jansen is such a person. He's developed literally hundreds of inks indifferent categories. I've tried just a small quantity of his inks. I've enjoyed some and disliked some. It's normal. I\m still eager to get to know most of DA inks. De Atramentis inks are grouped into categories like Sstandard inks, Document inks, Black Edition inks. Also on De ATramentis website you can find a lot of topic related inks (places, signs of zodiac, history, business, music, literature etc.). Most of them are renamed standard inks. So New York from Places series (Paris, London, New York) is actually International Blue. Sadly Internatioanal Blue isn't listed anywhere on De Atramentis site. It can't be find in online shops. I would guess it has to be different color. So on the scale of wetness of places it would go loke this Paris > New York > London. I already know London habitants will disagree but that's how it is guys. New Yorl flows nicely and has good level of saturation. It didn't cause me any problems such as pen clogging or skipping. It's nice, well behaved ink. I'm not really enjoying the color though. Mmg122 - thank you for sending me sample of this ink. De Atramentis Document Ink Dark Blue

Lovely Liquids De Atramentis Dokumenttine Dark Blue /DA Document ink Dark Blue Dear FPN friends, Here is another review of a De Atramentis Document Ink. The Document Inks are available in the following colours. · Blue · Dark Blue · Black · Magenta · Turquoise · Green is being developed now. This time it is the De Atramentis Dark Blue, which is a Blue Black ink. I have already reviewed the Blue document ink the link can be found here. https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/263866-de-atramentis-document-ink/ The De Atramentis Document Dark Blue has a lovely dark blue greyish colour. It isan excellent writer which dries quicker than a camels bottom during a dessert stroll. It is a Permanent Ink and ultra-proof against Bomb Raids. Because I am a lazy (bleep) I copied some of the text from my previous review DA Document ink Blue down here in blue italic This ink is mentioned for doctors, lawyers etc. and for all who need a permanent ink for official Documents To be qualified as a document ink the ink has to meet certain standards. The standard in Europe is ISO 12757-2. This means that the ink has to be lightfast and may not be influenced by any outer influences. To show you the resilience of the inks I have poured several aggressive Fluids over it and… Nothing happened. It is like if the ink was carved in stone…. Amazing… It is not only bulletproof but also bombproof … I believe the ink even survives a nuclear accident or bomb attack (sorry for not testing that ) The ink is extremely lightfast. This is tested and certified with the Woll-Skala, wool scale in English. This may sound peculiar, but isn’t that strange on second glance. In history quite often the same pigments used for Dyeing wool where used for inks as well. The Woll-Skala reaches from 1 not lightfast over 5 extremely lightfast to 8 extreme lightfast. The ink “of course” is WS 8. There are other resilient inks like inks based on iron gall or soot. The problem is that iron gall inks are very aggressive to both paper and nib. (the paper of old Dutch documents from the golden age are often eaten away partially by the ink) Both iron gall and soot inks may also clog the feed of your fountain pen. The De Atramentis inks are, as far as I understand, made with nano-particles. According to the noble Fountain Pen King Sire Richard of Binderheart. Nano-particle inks can be safely used in Fountain pens. I always have one Fountain Pen filled with the ink for work and flush it once every 2 months… No problem at all There are a few differences in the testing method though. I have also attacked the written text with other inks, the Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Green and purple. Well you guessed it nothing happened. I also used a drop of another whisky. First of all not to shock MIGO 984 as Talisker is her favourite malt whisky. Second but equally important is that I used Connamara Irish Malt whisky to please GMAX who is from beautiful Eire (Ireland) Conclusion: it can handle Connemara Whisky as good as I do (probably better) Down here are some of the technical specs (as suggested by Ann Finley 2007) (not copied in but for this ink) points 1-5 1 = 5= Fountain Pens: Online best writer 0.8 italic nib: Lamy Joy 1,5 Italic Paper: Leonardo Ringbuch, average quality school note book made in Austria Drying time: Ultrafast points 5 Flow: Like a dam break points: 5 Lubrication: smooth in both pens points: 5 Bleeding: stronger in broader nibs points: 3 Feathering: none points 5 Shading: none points: 0 Waterproof: no need to mention here points:5 Package: Only in bottles,Wide opening for easy filling up points: 3-4 (bottle is quite nice but the not very special, although the label is beautiful) Availabilty: In Europe Good, D-A webshop www.tinten-online.de, Amazon, La Couronne Du Comte (NL), USA Amazon, DA Webshop www.de-atramentis.com maybe Brian Goulet www.gouletpens.com points: EU 4 USA??? (complies with ISO-12757-2 document standard) Caution this is a Permanent ink. Do regularly clean your Fountain Pen. I have written an article on Permanent ink in Fountain Pens down here is the link https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/266035-on-permanent-ink-permanency-and-safety/ . Please take notice and you will have years of fun from both your Fountain Pens and your inks Cleaning is easy though. Down her ist he converter I used in this review. I only flushed it with a minimum of water 2 or 3 times (filled it up and emptied it) Well that’s easy isn’t it? The “First“ Issue. In 2007 he was the first to bring a Fountain Pen save Document ink, based on nano technology, on the market Dr Janssen is a talented and very friendly Ink enthusiast. He did not only did intensive research on Ink history and ancient ink recipes. He also does a lot of research before bringing an De Atramentis ink to the market with the ISO 12757-2 standard. In 2007 he was the first to bring a Fountain Pen save Document ink on the market. It used nano technology were the pigments are grinded in microscopic little particles. That’s what I guess, a gret Cook does not give away his recipes why should Dr Jansen do so . Montblanc had a permanent ink on the market those days which was made with Iron Gall as far as I know. Iron Gall is the Mass Murderer of Fountain Pens. Please read the article on permanent inks. As with any product of excellence competition is keen on copying or bringing there own version. I.e. Apple vs Samsung. I do not want to suggest anything here explicitly. But De Atramentis brought their nano technology ink to the market in 2007. Montblanc also from Germany did it in 2010. I guess it takes less effort if an example is there .. Don’t get me wrong here I don’t like ink bashing at all. Montblanc is a nice company which makes excellent Fountain pens. The text above is how I see it. But you are free to make your own opinion of course. Well and I must say that the bottles for their permanent inks are of sheer beauty. But personally I prefer originals… Back to the De Atramentis inks. I already mentioned it writes superbly. It is definitely permanent. There is a disadvantage to normal inks though. The bleed through gets quite strong, when you use broader nibs on thin paper. This is not a failure but it is meant to do so. The ink has to drench the paper I order to prevent forgery. This way the texts cannot be manipulated without leaving traces. There is a simple way to counter this. Use heavier paper >= 100 grams. On thinner paper use a fine nib and the bleed through is minimized and very acceptable. In the review of DA Document Blue severeal question raised about the availability in the USA. One member thought that some of the contents are forbidden in the USA.Another member could not find them in the USA and was worried about the shipping coasts from Europe. Two questions two answer. The ink contents are not forbidden in the USA. Dr Jansen exported a lot of Document inks to the USA. Dr Jansen also told me that Goulet is a very nice client of his. He suggested to give Goulet notice so that they can order them for you along with their other DA orders. This way you save on shipping I love this ink for several reasons as I do love the other DA document inks. It is safe for fountain pens it performs very well. It dries extremely fast… Hint.... left hand writers. One disadvantage: It does’nt shade. But I love the colour Hope you enjoyed the review and that it was usuable for you.If you have any questions or remarks please post I will test the DA Document inks Magenta and Turqouise inks soon. I can’t wait for the green version. But I will review that as soon as it is on the market. Kindest Regards Peter Vlutters dokumenten-Tinte DUNKELBLAU. Sie ist für alle Füllfederhalter geeignet. 11. The colors are: Blue Brown Dark Blue Fuchsia Green Red Turquoise YellowYellow is nice, moderately saturated yellow ink. Rather unpractical and not suitable for everyday use - as most yellows it's not always legible. De Atramentis Silver Grey

I'm still eager to get to know most of DA inks. De Atramentis inks are grouped into categories like Sstandard inks, Document inks, Black Edition inks. Also on De ATramentis website you can find a lot of topic related inks (places, signs of zodiac, history, business, music, literature etc.). Most of them are renamed standard inks. Silver Grey is one of DA standard ibnks and one of few grey inks DA offers. I like this particular hue a lot and I think it's great ink. At least on most papers. It causes feathering on bad papers like Moleskine but on most other papers there's no feathering at all. The ink is reasonably water resistant and has reasonable drying time. The shading, especially in stub nibs, looks attractive. Mmg122 - thank you for sending me sample of this ink. Black Brown is strongly saturated reddish brown ink. I'm not really keen on this color. The characteristics are mostly nice - excellent flow and nice lubrication make writing enjoyable even in drier nibs. Sadly the ink tends to feather strongly on some papers (crappy ones like Moleskine and some Leuchtturm notebooks). 17. Dr J Needs help again- De Atramentis Pearlescent Inks When I spent a few year in Germany last year I visited Dr J at his home in Hachenburg. Actually it was the first time we personally met.... So on inks we had a Little chit-chat On Pearlescent inks Me: Do I like those? Er... I don't know Dr J: Is it smart to use such in Fountain Pens? Er.. I don't know Well I have such Inks in my Calligraphy line so... What the Heck let's test and give it a GO! I showed Dr J the Examples of Diamine .. Well there is oneAre they suitable for Use in Fountain PensAgain off Course I pointed Dr J on the above mentioned Ink Brands. I told them that is of utmost important though to regularly clean and Service the pen.... Dr J answered takeing care of and cleaning the Foutain Pen is essential for all Fountain Pens no matter what Ink but... I still want to perform some test with my inks before sending them to you I the Calligraphy line https://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjeutCh4pvOAhWJJsAKHX7CAYYQFggjMAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kalligrafie-laden.de%2Findex.php%3Flanguage%3Den&usg=AFQjCNE48m4W7nPeVxveIjne_UVnfmUhrA De Atramentis carries a lot of specialty inks like IG inks but als inks based on ancient recipes. Also De Atramentis carries ink for dip pens containing Silver, Gold, Copper and Brass particles Using pearlescent inks in the Fountain Pens Dr J tested the inks in a fountain pen and had no trouble what so ever. I tested the inks in 2 Fountain Pens leaving one on my desk for 2 weeks and one for 2 months... No Problem after shaking the pens they wrote fluenty... Then again we love t hear your experience on that but beware Fountain Pens need regular maintenance in general. When using pearlescent inks (of any brand) regulary cleaning and riincing your pen is ESSENTIAL!!! That said let's go De Atramentis Perlglanztinten / Atramentis Perlescent inks The Advantage of a small Company is flexibility. It is easy to meet customers wishes as well. To start Dr J introduced 40 inks for testing purposes 40 sounds like a lot and it is a lot 10 Colours each colour available with SILVER, GOLD, COPPER or BRASS nano particles Dr J assured me it is possible to make pearlescent of all of his Standard inks (76 colours) if there is a request for that According the metal nano-particles were available in 3 sizes Dr J Chose the middle as he though the smallest had little effect and the larger ones might clog nibsAs you will see in the photo's and scans the different metal particles can greatly influence the hue and colour appearance of the inks, although the basic colour was the sameAs ssually Dr J is open for your comments, suggestions and wishes... Giacomo Puccini from Music series is actually Aubergine. It's other names are Birthday Ink (Holiday series) and Louise Aston (Power Woman). I think it's one of better De Atramentis inks - it's well behaved on most papers (although I've seen it feather in some review, it didn't happen to me though). The flow is good and constant, lubrication quite nice. Basically I think it's reliable and interesting ink, especially for purple color maniacs. 19. Just to prove a quick point! These are the same ink, aren't they?
  20. I use my fountain pens at work daily. I've had too many encounters with spills and drips on my notes to make me wary of what ink I use. One event, in particular, stands out for me when I wrote something down on a piece of paper for someone to refer to. Later, I saw the note on his desk. He had dripped some water on it, and the ink had run all over the place, not even legible! Embarrassing. It's one thing to be retro and insist on using my fountain pens at the office, but it's another when it affects the quality of the work product. So, I've been on a quest to find inks I can use reliably for work and not worry about accidents happening to destroy the writing. I have quite a lot of inks in my collection. with even more samples. I selected some inks that I've been using lately along with a couple I like, but have had bad experiences with their lack of water resistance. I use a lot of Black n' Red notebooks at the office, along with copy paper. I also wanted to compare performance with a premium paper, so I selected Rhodia. The tests consisted of generating a baseline for the three papers and 18 inks. I scanned the images at 600 dpi into jpeg files. They were later down-converted to lower quality jpeg to come in under 1 MB file size. I cut each sheet into two pieces - a control and a test side. After each test, they were scanned with the control and the test side together to provide a good comparison. The first test consisted of pouring a stream of water over the paper for a few seconds and then allowing the paper to dry without touching it. This simulated a spill at work and represents my biggest concern. The second test was for permanence. It was an 8 hour soaking in a water bath with some agitation to slough off any loose ink to see what actually remained behind on the paper. I'm posting the two test results and not the original because each test has its own control side to compare with. There are several ink brands that make water resistant inks. I've posted scans of some others previously (including Platinum). These are the inks I've been using lately as I've narrowed my preferences. One factor I've been looking for is quick drying inks so I can write and quickly turn a page without it transferring to the contacting sheet. A lot of permanent inks tend to dry slowing. The fastest drying permanent inks I've found are the DeAtramentis Document series of inks. The negative to these are that they soak in fast and feather a lot on cheaper paper. It's always a trade-off between dry time, permanence, saturation, and smearing. That's why I have so many inks. No one ink solves all problems. If I had to pick one ink to use exclusively, it would be Noodler's 54th Massachusetts. It drys relatively quickly, doesn't smear after a few minutes drying, and is really permanent with no wash off in spills. It's also a nice blue-black color. A close runner-up is Pilot Black. Dries really fast, well-behaved in all pens, and after a light wash off, leaves behind a very permanent residue. Dilute For Bleeding?

Hi All, Fountain pen newbie here with some questions on ink. I am experiencing bleeding on inks that most people do not have bleeding problems with. Specifically, Diamine Majestic Blue, De Atramentis Magenta Violet and Rohrer & Klingner Cassia. I am using a Leuchtturm 1917. I have read different articles about dilution but several ink reviews for these inks do not mention any bleeding problems. I have added a photo of the reverse side of a Majestic Blue list and a ink sample page. When I first started using Noodler's Black, I had problems with "ink transfer" (not sure if there is a term for this). Dried ink on one page A would transfer to another page B (Page A and B are faces of a notebook A|B where | is the spine) when I wrote on the reverse side of page B. A little dilution got rid of this problem but the problem comes back when the ink starts to dry. Using ink seems pretty intuitive... Take ink from bottle, put in pen, write. Am I doing this wrong? Why am I having so many problems? Should I be diluting all of these inks? I know Rhodia paper handles ink better but I would like to find a solution that works with the Leuchtturm -- which should still be able to handle fountain pens! Thank you!!!

    London - De Atramentis

So London from Places series (Paris, London, New York) is actually Royal Red. And here my problem starts as Royal Red isn't listed anywhere on De Atramentis site. It can't be find in online shops. I would guess it has to be different color. In the beginning I thought it was Oriental Red but I'm not sure, I don't have this one. Let's assume then it's Royal Red at least until the moment Mr. Jansen answers my mail (hopefully he will). London isn't as wet as Paris but I can't say it's dry ink. It's average. The flow is nice, it didn't cause any issues in few pens I've filed with it. No hard starts, no skipping. Mmg122 - thank you for sending me sample of this ink. So Paris from Places series (Paris, London, New York) is actually Maroon. It gets more complicated though Allow me to use screenprint from De Atramentis Twitter to explain things So Paris (Maroon) used to be called Sepia Brown for long time. The ink however didn't look like sepia so the changes were made. So to sum things up the ink can be found in different De Atramentis series as: Maroon - Standard inks Sepia Brown - old stocks of Maroon from Standard series Paris in places inks Beethoven in Famous Composers series To be honest I don't like the color but my cryticism ends here. Paris is excellent ink. It's rather wet, defionitely wetter than Waterman inks and it provides superb flow in all pens I've filled with it. It has some water resistance - after exposure to water the reddish color will be gone but the text will remain on the page. It'll be black then. Apart from great flow, the ink lubricates nicely the nib so the writing is smooth. The thing that I find most enjoyable about this ink though is something else. You may leave the pen uncapped for half an hour and once you come back, it'll start to write wiyhout any skipping. I've done it accidentally with lamy Al-Star (fine nib) filled with Paris. After an hour long meeting I came back to my room, noticed I left the pen uncapped and expected I would need to flush it, but, to my surprise the pen simply started to write. For this Paris scores 10 out of 10 on my scale. I won't buy a bottle because I'm not that keen on the color. Apart from that it's excellent ink. Mmg122 - thank you for sending me sample of this ink. 24. Lovely Liquids "De-Atramentis Jane Austen" Dear FPN friends, this is my first ink review so I believe it is not perfect by far... If you have any suggestions on improving my review skills I will be delighted to hear so. I have added a high res scan and I hope it is acurate and that the colours are as lovely as in my "live view" The scan is my hand written review and I hope you can see the beaty of the ink in there, sorry for my handwriting it is still a bit "spastic fantastic" but I will work on that in the future. Quality: Hand Made in Germany points: 5 I just love this ink. the colour is dark green which makes it suitable for daily work as long as the documents are not "too official" (I guess you use blue or black document ink in that case). The colour is moss green. It has a lovely ancient touch to it, like in old 19th century of pre WWII letters. I always have one of my Fountain Pens filled with this lovely liquid (and I only have 7 Fountain Pens and since I have 10 inks I MUST really LOVE it ) Hope you enjoyed the review and that it was usuable for you. Next review D-A Document Blue and Dark Blue... Amazing stuff Bullet and Bombproof!!! Kindest Regards Peter Vlutters
  25. I'm plotting and planning an upcoming visit to Glasgow, Dumfries, Carlisle, and Dublin at the end of the month; would love to find a retailer who carries De Atramentis inks, so I could peruse colors in person (which, of course, would lead to stuffing bottles of ink into my suitcase later on). Anyone know if/where the De A's are sold in those locations?
