  1. I saw on reddit chatter that the Burgundy Elite 95s has been discontinued, I just checked the website and only the black version is listed. Noticing the "new" tag on the Custom Heritage 91, I clicked on it and saw that this model is now apparently also only in black available. Very odd to discontinue colours completely instead of adding, Sailor is selling like crazy with all the colours and Platinum has been adding more colour as well. Anyone know more about this or any musings? https://www.pilot.co.jp/products/pen/fountain/ https://www.pilot.co.jp/products/pen/fountain/fountain/customheritage91/ https://www.pilot.co.jp/products/pen/fountain/fountain/elite95s/

  3. Ok, here we go....I am looking to purchase my first, and last, gold nib pen. The last pen that I will ever use. This pen will be my workhorse pen, as I will use it for journaling, I might even keep it in my pocket throughout the day. I'm looking to spend under or around $200. These are the pens that I would like to pick from: 1.) Waterman Carene 2.) Pilot Custom Heritage 91 3.) Karas Kustoms Ink (all copper) 4.) Pilot Namiki Falcon I would like to note that I'm NOT interested in any piston fillers, as I would prefer a pen that uses cartridges and converters. I enjoy carrying extra supplies and the rare instances in which I actually have to go to my Altoids can and grab my backup ink. I'm looking for a smooth nib, and I plan to write with a Fine or Fine-Medium nib. Here are a list of some of the pens that I currently own, that are decent writers to me: - Pilot Metro (Fine nib, Section is a little too thin) - Parker Urban 2016 model (current workhorse) (Medium nib) - Jinhao 911 - Jinhao 8802 (Pocket Carry) - Hero 901 - Parker Urban 2012 model (Medium Nib) (a little dry/resistant writer, but it feels nice in my hand) For some reason, I'm leaning mostly towards the Carene and the CH91. Has anyone had any issues out of the pens listed? Which one would be best for all-around heavy use? Thanks!
  4. My Pilot Custom Heritage with CON-70 converter has worked flawlessly for several years now but since my last refill I cant seem fill it properly anymore. I believe the problem lies with the feed because my converter works just fine in my wifes CH 91 and her converter cannot fill my pen. Comparing her pen to mine Ive noticed a slight difference in the feeds. It looks like the small cylinder in the center of the feed is pushed inward on my pen. Could that be the issue and would it be safe to push it back? Has anybody had similar issues with their pens?
  5. I bought it in August 2016 and so the one year warranty is up and I cant send it back to Japan for repair. Any DIY repairs to help the crack from spreading or hopefully fill the crack? How does superglue sound like a possible fix? Will it be able to seep into the crack and seal? Or what other alternatives do I have?
  6. Hi all, Having recently begun to use a Pilot Custom Heritage 91 as one of my daily writers, I started to wonder how to go about completely disassembling the pen for cleaning. I have found several disassembly videos for the Custom 74, such as the one by SBREBrown (here), but no comparable videos for the Custom Heritage 91. Since the differences between the Custom 74 and Custom Heritage 91 seem mainly to be cosmetic (flat top and differently-shaped clip, but same nib, feed, and similar-looking section), I was wondering if the Custom Heritage 91 would disassemble in the exact same way that the Custom 74 does. Has anyone owned or fiddled with both these pens and know the answer?
  7. CH91 with SF, swapping nibs with a CH92 with M. Figured it out - a counterclockwise twist on the nib+feed with a firm grip did the trick. Now I've got a flexy nib on the clear 92! The feed on the 92 seems to perform better as well, so this ended up being a win-win. http://i.imgur.com/2Ote6km.jpg http://i.imgur.com/bBC4JKO.jpg
