    Recommendation for resistence

From a new buyer, Can you help me find a pen? So Christmas is coming. Kinda. And then my birthday. Some months later. And I am looking for something resistant to be carried around and (unfortunately) occasionally sometimes fall from the desk, light (I really like a light pen), with a small point (I like the size M I have been using) (are measures uniform around companies?) and the two most important aspects: cheap and rechargeable, instead of cartridges. To compare with what I have been using for the last 3 years: Mostly use the cheapest plastic Parker fountain pen available(Jotter fountain pen), slightly cracked on the side, https://www.parkerpen.com/collections/essential/jotter/jotter-fountain-pen/SAP_2030947.html, https://www.worten.pt/produtos/caneta-de-aparo-parker-jotter-originals-tinta-preta-azul-mrkean-3026980964306?gclid=CjwKCAjwgsqoBhBNEiwAwe5w0ynTjEQUsu4jkmZa4LxeM1uPHLGBfatO--PJsEYRWwFX7oCW14zMRxoCbMYQAvD_BwE. No complains, I like how light and small it is and the size of the point (size M). Although I'd rather if it was slightly longer, my fingers are big. Occasionally, I use a (I think it is) knockoff pen that someone gave me. Bigger point, always discompensating on the nib and not being usable with temperature and pressure differences (even slight ones). Thanks in advance for all the help!

  5. Hello everyone! I have recently fallen in love with the Parker-Eversharp 10,000 Word Pen, which I think is so odd-looking it's beautiful -- it's like the Edsel of pens! At any rate, I wondered if the claim was true, and how to test it. I obtained some original cartridges, and then was so excited at the fact that I could buy some of the original Quink with Solv-X. The chemist in me is still fascinated by what Solv-X could actually be. I have one pen that came to me with cartridge attached and still with fluid, useable ink. It's just incredible to me that a product like ink could last so many decades, and still be useful and beautiful. "Does not dry in the pen" indeed -- one claim proved true from the outset! Anyone else with "historic ink" they like to use? Given this festive time of year, and the ability to count words quickly with a computer program, I selected 10,000 words of Dickens's _A Christmas Carol_ (all of Stave One, a little of Stave Three, and all of Stave Five) and decided to write a "love letter to Christmas," as it were. The pen was ready, the Quink took some filtering and dilution (with discovery of an incredibly pretty crystal! Solv-X? or just pigment?), and I set aside paper and time. Several beautiful nights teary-eyed at the beauty of Dickens's writing later, I had written 10,000 words with the namesake pen, and I still had more than 1/4 cartridge of ink left. Photos provided to prove all this, naturally-- I'm certain my micrographic printing helped, but also I think Dickens's writing has a disproportionate number of Very Long Words, so perhaps that balanced toward the other side of actual writing line length. (Pages are written double-sided) Merry Christmas to all, and God Bless Us, Every One! Matt
  6. We don't have sunlight these days, so I scanned the cards. The pc I'm using is very old and can't handle Photoshop so you'll have to imagine the colors a bit more saturated. This is the first card I wrote this year. It was a prototype, a poorly-made one, but when I said I'd throw it away and start over, my mother threatened me, saying she wasn't going to let me have Christmas pastries. The second card is for Christmas Eve. I found the font in the Youtube video titled "minimalist bullet journal December 2017." This is part of the Christmas card for my big sister. I found the font on Pinterest. And this is the card for Saint Stephen (that's how 'Stefano' translates, I think). I don't remember why the 26th is festive for Catholics but it is, and my mother wanted a card. The font is again a random one from Pinterest. I just wanted to share these with you. All the inks are in the imgur description of each scan.
  7. Happy Holidays everyone! Here's the link to my December newsletter update.
  8. Wife gifted the Bexley Owner's Club 2017 pen (left) in Lapis to me, while my mother in law got me the the other 2, Bexley Poseidon Magnum in Cream and Purple (middle) and the Blue Bamboo Walking Stick (right). Both in medium nib sizes, my favorite. In the Lapis, I'm running Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue, thanks to an ink exchange with FPN member richofthetower. The Creme and Purple is running J. Herbin Violette Pensee ink cartridge and the Blue Bamboo is running J. Herbin Vert Pre ink cartridge. I also got gifted some Rhodia pads and J. Herbin ink cartridges - Vert Pre, Orange Indien, and Eclat de Saphir. My brother sent me a vert nice custom printed stationary set with matching envelopes. Already tested it out for fountain pen friendliness and happy to report that it is very friendly. From a company called American Stationary. My mom sent me some Dollar General pads that were made in indonesia. I was a little skeptical, but it turns out that the "cheap" $1 pads held up to all my currently inked pens! Going to go to the local Dollar General and see if they have any and if so, I'm buying up the whole lot. Anyway, it was a great Christmas pen haul! Hope others had good luck in their holiday on the pen front!

    Best. Gift. Ever.

Disclaimer A: This is most likely the wrong section. Moderators, if you feel this belongs in chatter please move it! Disclaimer B: This is most likely going to sound like pure meaningless gushing. Sorry. As a high school student, I am definitely in the minority of pen type. Luckily, my friends tolerate my fountain pen obsession (it entertains them). I've even tried to convert a couple of them to fountain pens (to no avail). Today, a day before Christmas break, we were exchanging our Christmas gifts with each other. My girlfriend presented me with a small, heavy box. I was thoroughly confused. The box was quite heavy for such a small size. As I quizzically unwrapped it, my eyes began to glow. She got me a bottle of Emerald of Chivor!!! I had been meaning to get some for myself, but I impulsively bought a Kindle Fire with my pen budget, which, being a high school student, is quite low. The ink is amazing, and I'm super happy that she took the time to track it down. I had mentioned a "green ink with gold sparkles." This one's a keeper! Edited because I had typed ones instead of one's and it was bothering me.

    Friendly, But Not Feminine Purple

I am looking for a nice, formal and warm purple. A purple that is composed, but at the same time personal. I don't want something that pops out and is hard to read. Maybe something on a darker side, but nothing bright or light. Shading is not really necessary. I will be using Goulet Sampling (no affiliation). Thanks for the recommendations!!!!! And Merry Christmas!!!!
