  1. Here is my updated review of the Ottergami journal, now that I have been using it for a few months. I originally wrote it out in the journal but decided to copy it out onto a writing pad to make it more legible. In the journal: and here is the more carefully writ version (also redactions incorporated!): I see a correction already, should have been "pages'" . Apologies.
  2. In need of a dot journal quickly, I decided to try the Ottergami. In general I am quite pleased, though I fear it may actually be too heavy for optimum portability; this is due to a combination of high page count (192 pages) and thick paper (150GSM). The pen loop is a bit narrow, though nice to have, but I eventually realized a Pilot Metropolitan will fit. Photos show size relative to the pen, and also relative to an Endless Recorder notebook(my preferred journal). Unlike the Endless, it does not have pre-numbered pages, which I miss. The paper is thicker than than in the Endless. The both have back pockets, elastic closure, and place-keeping ribbons; the Endless has page numbers and a Table of Contents, which the Ottergami lacks. The Ottergami has a pen holder(albeit a tiny one)and stencils, which the Endless lacks. I will update with thoughts in a few months. Inside photo with Pen
  3. Situation – I manage a large company and my day is in meetings and email. In the meetings I take notes in bullet journal / note taking style. I use an A4 lined notebook and a Lamy 2k for note taking, I love it! At the end of the day I close out my day writing my bullets into emails so I can track them in outlook as actions for myself or others. I have even scanned in my 2015, 2016 and 2017 journals to PDF and dumped them (I like the minimal lifestyle). Complication – Scanning in my journals takes time, and I have only done this at the end of the year when closing out a journal and opening a new one. If my pages were loose leaf then I could scan them in easily, in fact I could even have templates that I can fill out depending on the type of meeting. I could close out days or weeks and have my notes in digital, maybe make them searchable or at least tag topics, any handouts can be included into the scan. This would be easy then to review in a PDF reader for referencing past meetings etc. without leafing through my paper journal looking for the meeting. Resolution – But what to do? A5 vs A4 Templates, IPad holder + Notepad / Clip board or something to carry paper and notes not yet scanned / processed. Best application for reading the PDFs, OCR on the journal notes? Product to carry it all including the iPad……. As I figure it out for myself I shall update you all, but if someone has tried something similar please tell me below. If this post is in the wrong place please also let me know. Thanks! And Have a happy productive day!
  4. Howdy, I have been a member since 2014, but just now read the rules for this site. I am a poet, composer, fiber artist, and former computer security geek. I love to write, and I love to write with fountain pens. I have been using cheap fountain pens since elementary school. But in the 1980's I discovered Waterman and Parker pens. I have a tiny fountain pen collection now. Waterman (set with Rollerball pen, paperwork and cartridges but, alsa, no box ),Parker,Staedtler Calligraphy set, 2 vintage Schaeffer's, a ton of nibs and a few dip pen holders. I aspire to find a vintage 1970's Lamy 25P German fountain pen that works. I like to write and do calligraphy in my art journals and bullet journals with fountain pens. Is anyone here using fountain pens in their bullet journals? Which waterproof (international standard short) ink cartridges do you like? Any inks that don't bleed through? I keep my fountain pens in a vintage Parker Sherman cigarette box that I found in an antique store... So glad I found FPN! Peace, LuLu
