  2. Hi, everyone! We just wrote a review of the Aurora Minerali series demonstrators - tried to provide some advice as to why we like them so much (all their nibs are made in-house!). These are definitely some of our favorite demonstrators out there! Let us know what you think or if there's another demonstrator you like more! https://www.truphaeinc.com/blogs/truphae-news-and-stories/aurora-88-limited-edition-minerali-fountain-pens
  3. Hi all! I'd like to introduce you to my site, oakenreed.com! Admittedly, the site I created is not solely based on fountain pens, but it was undoubtedly the initial goal. I will soon be reviewing a few pens and inks I've accrued over the past couple of years, from recommendations from you all or otherwise. I'm currently having a giveaway, but while my PIF is being moderated over there, please head on over and check it out for yourself. I also tend to write poetry and stories, so if that appeals, I hope to see you there!

  5. Happy Anniversary Fed Pens! It's been two years already since we started Federalist Pens! It's hard to believe that it has been that long already! I have come a long way since the forum days of selling vintage items to fund the hobby that I love! The hobby that I still share with you, even as a retailer! The support has been great, and we have acquired several great brands over the past year! For pen brands- we have added Bexley, Aurora, and Montegrappa to the family! In ink, we took a chance, and added Robert Oster Inks to the line up exactly a year ago this month! Robert asked me to carry the products last July thru social media, and I agreed to be the first US Dealer! We debuted them at last year's DC Pen Show! Now- Oster Signature Inks has 6 US Dealers, and 80 different colors! It sounds funny to say all this now, but Oster Inks were new to the pen community. Robert has accomplished all of his success in less than two years! We took on sponsorship opportunities this year as well! I have become a regular sponsor for the "Well Appointed Desk". Ana actually purchased the first Robert Oster bottle from me at last year's DC Show (she actually waited for me to unpack the Oster Products...), and she did the review of Robert Oster "Aqua" not too long afterward. Thanks to great reviews such as that, Oster Inks have really taken off! I also donated both an Aurora Pen (Inkdependence), and a Bexley Pen (The Pen Addict) for reviews. These pens were given away as my way of "Paying it Forward"! Look for more review/giveaways and sponsorship opportunities in the future! Of course, some brands have "come and gone" at Fed Pens. I try my best to keep my site and products as fresh and purposeful as possible. It was important to me to carry well-known and respected brands. This was vital when I first started selling products as a retailer. It still is important to make sure the products I carry are working for you! This is a very competitive business market, and this is very obvious at Pen Shows. We do work together, and "help" each other by sending customers to other dealers when we cannot help them (Well, I DO, ANYWAY...). Questions can vary at shows.. one of the more interesting questions my brother and I get is "Does the pen come with a box"? I am asked this question more than once at every show. I am shocked to see people surprised when I say "Yes"! We are authorized, professional, dealers selling you a brand new product that we represent- WHY WOULD YOU NOT GET A BOX?? Do not be a Sucker! When you deal with Federalist Pens (ME), you get: -The item you purchased -The box the product comes with -Paperwork and warranty from the manufacturer -Bonus of our choice (i.e. sample, brand ephemera, Fed Pens bag, product boutique bag, etc..) -Federalist Pens (MY) 30-Day no Hassle/Haggle Warranty! Full Refund or replacement! (Only exclusion to this is with NOS Vintage Products- cannot be replaced...) DC Supershow next month starts Year Three for Fed Pens! (We debuted at the 2015 Show!) Stay tuned for more great deals, new products, and my continued support of the Pen Community! Happy Shopping!Federalist Frank Anniversary Sale! www.federalistpensonline.com To celebrate- the site is programmed to give you an additional 10% Off at Checkout! There is no coupon needed- just spend $20 or more, and Checkout will apply the discount! You will save over 20% on most items ALL MONTH LONG! It is my way of thanking you for the rapid success we are having! Shop Now! Many items will not be this low again! Some of the brands I represent do not even allow a discount- this will be waived during this period! Checkout does not discriminate (well, it could if I programmed it that way)! Take advantage of seldom discounted brands, as well as "Pre-Orders" (See Below) There is more! Most pen items will be shipped to US residents FREE this month! US Shipping is waived on pens $25 or more this month! Enjoy reduced shipping on ink, paper, and accessories! Thank You for your loyalty, and business! Here's to Year Three 2017-2018! New Products! 6. Hello everyone! I started a blog last year for budget-minded fountain pen users and enthusiasts. I'm still working on publishing consistently, but look for me to be more active in the community with reviews and discussion! Here is the blog for anyone interested, look for a new review later this week! http://thepoorpenman.wordpress.com
  7. I was talking to my wife's cousin today about a pen that he made for me last year and decided to take some photos of it, and then some more photos, and then I came back for more. Eventually, I got a couple that I liked, and sent them to him (in way too many emails), posted a few to Twitter, and posted the better photos to my blog. Cell phones can be a bit limiting. Even when I thought I had the nib in focus, I'd often see a blurred mess on the screen afterwards. I could have taken the DSLR out of the case, but sometimes improvising is fun, so I decided to use my LG V10. http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-1-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-2-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-3-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-4-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-5-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-6-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-7-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-8-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-9-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-10-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-11-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-12-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-13-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-14-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-15-150x84.jpg http://cdn.jnash.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/custom-fountain-pen-16-150x84.jpg Photo of My Writing Desk (5.7 MB)
  8. Hi, first time I post here, long time reader though... So I was watching a video Q and A the other day and I realised that there's a lot of misconception about lefties in the fountain pen world... So it got me thinking, I have been interested in putting up a video blog about fountain pens from my lefty perspective... So here I am, working on this blog and I thought I should ask the community what would you like to see on that blog other then pen reviews and such... So the address will be: https://inkylefty.wordpress.com and here's my email if you want to get in touch: inkylefty@gmail.com By the way I'm french-canadian so I was thinking doing my posts in English but French is also an option if there is some people interested, or Spanish too... Hope to hear from you guys.... InkyLefty

  10. Hello, FPNers! I know a lot of you were unable to make to the pen show. I have some pictures for you all! Unfortunately, my camera died about 20 minutes in, so there aren't as many pictures as I would've liked. The boyfriend took most of these, and I took a few- neither of us are very adept photographers, so please be kind! I think he did a good job, haha. Without further ado, pictures! http://dailypenning.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC00281-1024x768.jpg http://dailypenning.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC00285-1024x768.jpg http://dailypenning.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC00288-768x1024.jpg http://dailypenning.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC00286-1024x768.jpg http://dailypenning.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC00289-768x1024.jpg http://dailypenning.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/DSC00283-1024x768.jpg http://dailypenning.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/2015021595114644-1024x576.jpg I've included all the pictures I have in this post, save for my spoils. If you'd like to read a first-timer's perspective on the show and see what I purchased, you can visit my blog: http://www.dailypenning.com Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the pictures! -BetwixtTheLines

    The Pelikan's Perch Is Launched!

Good afternoon everyone. This is just a quick post to let you know that I have officially launched my new website, The Pelikan's Perch. It is a noncommercial, enthusiast site dedicated to the Pelikan brand. Right now the focus is on the M100 - M250 lines including the M481. I hope to expand that in the future. You will find detailed statistics for each pen as well as photographs. I will also be posting blog posts on various topics related to the brand as time goes on. You will be able to find writing samples, reviews, news, how-to's, and many other useful links. Please check it out and let me know what you think. It has been a long time in conception but a labor of love for me over the last month that has finally come to fruition. Check back often or subscribe to stay up to date. I hope to post at a minimum of once weekly. I have learned a lot about the Pelikan brand over the years and I want to share that knowledge with others. Enjoy and feel free to let me know what you think of the site. http://www.thepelikansperch.com
  13. Hi all! I am working on starting a blog with a focus on 'utilitarian' pens and paraphernalia. The idea is that we won't be reviewing Mont Blancs and Viscontis on a regular basis, but instead focusing on what's affordable, durable, and functional (think Lamy 2000, TWSBI 580, etc.). I know that craftmanship and aesthetics are a huge part of the hobby, but I think what fountain pens need to stay current is new technology and functionality! Right now, I'm looking for someone to write reviews with me. I've got everything ready - a nice camera, a variety of pens, appropriate paper, too many ink samples, etc. I've even had businesses contact me offering to send samples already! All I need is a partner! I'm looking for someone who can compliment my knowledge of pens. While I mostly use fountain pens, hopefully my partner will be someone who is more knowledgeable about ballpoints, gel pens, pencils, etc. This is because I'd like for the blog to cover a broad range and have a large variety of reviews. Ideally, we'd each submit two reviews each month (on different things) and thus have four new reviews published on the blog monthly. It does not matter if you are not in the USA, in fact it may even be better if you have access to popular products that are not readily available in the U.S. Of course, if you'd like to review products or samples offered to the blog by businesses you would have to be able to receive and send mail as well. Please let me know if you are interested! I will be checking for replies and messages regularly. Feel free to ask me any personal questions (age, occupation, writing sample, etc), I will be glad to provide further information upon request. Hopefully we'll be able to discuss our individual interests and see if we can come to an agreement! Thanks for reading!
