  1. It looks so much like fountain pen writing... coming from a ballpoint! LINK
  2. I have found a Freeosk, or free kiosk in the produce area of Walmart, and they are also in Sams Clubs. You either need an app on your phone, or you can get a code that you type in every time. The samples vary from food to non-food. One day I saw the sample was for Bic pens, but all the samples were gone. It was the first time I had ever seen it empty. I got an email announcing the next free sample plus the dates it would be there. Today I went in and got a free Bic Gelocity Pen in purple. They are marketed as fast drying. 3. These inks will be part of the fade test. Here are the current inks compared. http://www.sheismylawyer.com/2018-Ink/2018-05/slides/2018-05-03_Ink_1.jpg Much to my surprise, you can see some bleed through. http://www.sheismylawyer.com/2018-Ink/2018-05/slides/2018-05-03_Ink_2.jpg
  4. So this isn't a really niche question - or maybe it is here . So, basic ballpoint pens - the kind a teacher marks your work with. What's your favourite brand? BiC Cristal Staedler Papermate Uniball Pilot Parker (arguably not basic, I suppose) Zebra STABILO I've written a questionnaire on an external site but I'm not sure if I can share the link here? Let's give it a go https://katie482.typeform.com/to/WK9IiH I'd love to hear what you think here, too. I'm not sure if I should be embarrassed to admit but I do appreciate a Papermate InkJoy Thanks guys!
  5. Hi has anyone tried to make an eye dropper from a Bic Xpen? The barrel looks really tough. This does also beg the question, why would you want to! Come to think of it, a Rotring Rivette could work well. K

Staples Adds A Few More Fps

In recent years, The Staples in our area (in S. Central Pennsylvania) went from a nice glass-enclosed counter display of fine pens down to disposable Pilot Vectors and a rotating stand that had a few Cross FPs. I took a look today and they have added disposable Bics, another Cross or two, and three Parker Sonnets. The better pens are stored upright, nib down and posted, in a fixed stand that holds the pen in place so you can touch and feel, but keeps a buyer from handling it without assistance. Interestingly, the the tines on all the Parker nibs are curled up on the ends, like someone tried to jam them through the rack. The nibs on the Cross pens are not. Does that mean the Cross nibs are really stiff compared to Parker nibs, assuming they all got equal treatment? Or, did someone intentially try to damage only the Parkers? Oh, the questions that occupy our minds.
  7. I saw a curious thing in the wikipedia entry for Sheaffer a little while ago (spurred on by part of a post here on FPN that mentioned it). Someone has edited the wikipedia article on Sheaffer to include this bit: Of course, the Sheaffer website itself is still branded Bic, and likewise the NR website (and wiki entry) have no mention of sheaffer. Big shocker here- I've actually been able to find absolutely nothing outside of that wikipedia article (which seems to have been edited back in April and remained fairly consistent with this new info since). The new info at wikipedia seems just a little... too positive, if you ask me. So, since everyone knows wikipedia is SO trustworthy, has anyone else heard anything about this?
