Very nice review. I have the rollerball equivilent of this in the same color, and it really is a nice little jewel of a pen. I had ordered it sight unseen, and was surprised at how small it was, but that eventually turned out to be one of its nicest features.

Congratulations.

Thank you - its very daunting doing a first review but it turned out to be very enjoyable AND I have learned a few new tricks with image hosting! Just need to improve my photography and vary my handwriting to show how the nib perfroms at different angles (which is very well by the way.... even side on it is smooth and still giving a full line)..... :happyberet:

Thanks for this review. Lalex is not often named here at the Forum, but they make very good pieces, substantial and valuable pens. Metallic grips are not my thing, but the looks of the rest of the pen are fantastic. I'm surprised to see the small size compared to the All-Star. Handwritten reviews are always extra interesting!.

Pardon my laziness, but is this our first Lalex review? Thanks, Callie! It's a lovely pen, and your pics make the finish look better than some I've seen online. I've been checking out the Lalex Linea (I think) for awhile, so it's nice to know that, so far, opinions of Lalex are good. Thanks for a wonderful review, and I'm starting to recognize your stationery! :happyberet:

Have to say I am not a fan of metal grips either but in this instance because of the shape of the pen and the fact I tend to grip high on the barrel (as much as 3-4 cm away from the nib on occasion) I actually dont use the metal grip at all and hold the pen on the resin so it isnt a problem.

Thanks for the description of the clip. I had read somewhere else that someone had thought the metal accents on the Lalex Forme to be "thin," which gave me the impression that the clip wasn't all that great.

The orange square is a great design, I'd love to see some pictures if you end up buying it.

Wassup wid that, homes? Looks like you're WANT to feel the hurt. -ethernautrix

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
