Wow, tiny eyedroppers. How do we find out more about them? Really fascinating.

Thanks for the video link and for continuing to give us updates regarding Indian pen companies. I really love some of the coloration of the pens shown in the video but, wow, I don't think I could comfortably use one of those!

Hari, it's just wonderful that there's still such a market for handmade "user-quality" FPs. As I recall, even Guider's pens with kt.-gold nibs were still extremely economically priced.

Best wishes,

Paul

These tiny pens are made of Ebonite, hence the beautiful marbling. These are more of gimmick pens rather than a practical writing instrument (maybe usable by children as told to me by GL Rao: owner of Guider), These pens are probably made in response to similar pens made by Ratnamson(see this article):)

Yes, there is a small market for FPs here and an even smaller market for genuine handmade stuff, The prices since my previous review have increased to around 90USD for the same pen.

Best Regards,

Hari

Hi!

Based on Hari's suggestion, I have translated what is being said in the video from Telugu to English..... I am Satish Kolluru and I am from Visakhapatnam (Vizag), Andhra Pradesh.... But right now I am based in Bangalore. The translation exactly follows what is being narrated in the video (according to the sequence.....)

Hope this will help everybody understand this video better...

Cheers...!

Satish

Narrator:

“ Located on the main road in Rajahmundry, Guider Pen Works has a special significance attached to it. They are experts in making ball pens and ink pens. Aiming to find a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, they came up with an idea of conducting a brand new and unique experiment. As part of this experiment, they brought to life, a pen that is 1 inch long. This 10-pen matchbox is grabbing everyone’s attention. This box contains pens of lengths ranging from 1.5 Centimeters to 3 Centimeters. These pens not only look great, but also write extremely well. They are adept at filling pages with words as beautiful as pearls!

This ‘Chotaa Pen Set’ (small pens set) spreads the importance of traditional pens. Customers from other places and cities are coming to this place to buy these pens.”

Customer:

“ These pens that are under 1 Inch in length are quite different from the regular pens. These pens are also quite easy to use for both children and adults alike. I like them very much as they are very unique. ”

Narrator:

“ According to Guider Pen Works, these pens were mainly made with the intention of showing the difference between plastic pens and hand made pens to the world. They aim to carry out many such innovative experiments with a strong aim of finding a place in the Guinness Book of World Records”

G.Lakshmana Rao (Owner and Pen Craftsman):

“I made this pen with the intention of exhibiting the specialty of hand made pens and bringing their almost forgotten but well deserved glory back into the limelight. I am determined to keep working hard with the support and patronage of my esteemed customers and eventually create a place for myself in the Guinness Book of World Records”

Narrator:

“This attractive Chotaa Pen Set (Small Pens Set) is fast gaining popularity and there seems to be a huge demand for it in the market”

Presenter (News Reporter):

“Now, if parents find a matchbox in theirs children’s school bag, they need not panic… After all, it could be containing not match sticks, but these small pens…!!!

With cameraman Srinivas, this is Ramnarayana, TV9, Rajahmundry”

Satish, many thanks for the translation! The video is fun to watch - especially the scene with all the women writing in a row. I can't wait to see one of these pens in person!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
