Espresso brown

I recently bought a bottle of Namiki Black. Thanks to posts by others reporting that combining bulletproof and non-bulletproof inks produced mixes that were partly bulletproof, it occurred to me that mixing Namiki Black with inks that are not water-resistant might produce mixes that were partly water-resistant. Happily, that seems to be the case, at least for the 2 mixes I tried. As the image below shows, the Namiki Black portion remains after running water over the samples for perhaps 5 seconds, so I'm reasonably sure that if I were to spill or rain were to fall on what I wrote the writing would still be legible.

 

 

The Espresso brown mix consists of 8 parts Diamine Golden Brown, 2 parts of Namiki Black, and 1 part Waterman Havana Brown. It is much darker and far less yellow than Diamine Golden Brown, and has none of the red tint of Waterman Havana Brown.

 

The Beet Red mix is 4 parts Waterman Red and 1 part Namiki Black. It is a dark red, the color of beets. It is far deeper than Waterman Red, and lacks the slight brown tinge that gives Diamine Monaco Red its dried blood effect.
