Montex Handy Executive.

Montex handy executive.

Bought this one in the evening.

The color is grey+black ,but there was a purple one too.

The body and the cap are shiny.

In the pack it is written that the nib is made of Japanese steel and German iridium tip.

The design is quite interesting ,and the nib has small holes which is maybe for looks.

I can look to the object on the other side if I look thru the holes. Nice.

But the nib is smoooooooth,by far the smoothest nib that I have seen in a pen of this price range.

Unlike entry level fountain pens, there may be different types of nib in this model,as mine got a "no 1" written in the feed, and the purple was "no 5."

Mine writes thicker than the purple one.

Comes with 2 cartridges and a converter.

If the plastic quality was little bit thicker, then this pen would been much better.

Overall ,a must have pen.

Thanks for sharing.

Here is the product page for the pen:

You may get a malware warning, I ignored it at my risk.

It appears the nib uses the WC Heraus E3 tipping.

Interesting story about Montex. They are nib manufacturers:

Interesting nib on that pen, thanks for sharing. It looks like it takes a cartridge, which one?

The Darkness and flow of writing with this pen disappoint me. It writes very fine lines which are hard to read many times and nearly invisible if you writes for comparison with other pens with same ink.

Their website has suffered from intruders, with links leading to what I assume is a scammer's websites. I'm hoping someone in India can give them a call and tell them - I'd rather not email them due to the risk that the criminals control their email address.

example: http://www.montexpen.com/products-description.aspx?type=Fountain%20Pen&id=74 has links that lead to "loan" websites.

I have this pen new in box along with the simpler "Handy" with colourul barrel and cap, and four short international cartridges instead of just one. Price of the Handy Executive is Rs.50, the Handy is Rs.30.

Since they are both cartridge/converter pens I examined them together. The converter on the Handy Executive fits rather loosely, that on the Handy is much better. I tried to put the Handy's converter on the Handy Executive and it's totally loose that it just refuses to latch on at all, but the other way round makes it a tight fit. This makes me think that the injection moulding techniques at Montex are a little careless in terms of consistency, and that makes me apprehensive about putting the Handy Executive through its paces.

No, I am not going to list my pens here.

Try cartridges or see if you can use it as an eyedropper.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
