Oops, looks like I forgot the Q-tip swab on the first/title page. I'll have to fix that tomorrow. :headsmack:

Hmm, looks like an interesting green. Been looking around for one, ever since I discovered the fact that my Diamine Evergreen ink goes down looking black(sure it DRIES to become dark green, but I want instant satisfaction!).

Red and Green...looks like a Christmas Season's Greeting Review!

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

I meant that in a good, "Santa Claus" kind of way! Thanks for doing this review, it is a nice reminder of this ink, and a lovely presentation!

Nice review!

I was hoping you would conclude by saying you hate this ink and then I would send you a PM and buy the remainder of your bottle for next to nothing. Now, thanks to your review, no one will want to sell their Diamine Green/Black and I'll have to pay full price just like everyone else. Alas. :crybaby:

Just ordered some yesterday. If I don't like it, it will become one of my notetaking inks. I use every ink iI buy (unless it is contaminated). Strange how some will grow on you. Noodler's Whaleman's Sepia is my standard ink for a very wet Conroy-Stewart nib. Undiluted, it makes a very bold line.

Is it a mediocre ink, or a mediocre review (i.e., badly written)? I kind of like the color. Green with some dark spinach backbone!

I regard my reviews as mediocre and quickly done. :P

Maybe I should say "A mediocre review..." as opposed to "A mediocre ink review..."

Sounds like a practical sort of ink. Thanks for posting your review.

Nice review. My experience is a much darker green than your scans show, this from a wet EEF M400 nib, but still obviously green. For me this ink does what it says on the tin, colourwise. It just IS green-black. And it has the usual Diamine properties too. All good.

Yes, to me it looks much darker in person as well. The Sheaffer Skrip Red I used for the legends also looks slightly pinkish in my scans, but in person it looks like a bright true red. My scanner just sucks.

Mediocrity is in the eye of the beholder, and likely unawarely colors much of their perception. It was a unique and great review that I enjoyed.

Update!

Took some pictures of the title and review pages today which I think better reflect the actual color of this ink. :) Although, they might be a little dark... I would add them to the OP, but I can't edit my previous posts anymore. Is there only a certain window of time after you've posted that you can make edits?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
