Diamine Hope Pink

Hope Pink is just about as pink as you can possibly get an ink, and I love that! I'm pretty sure I have had my hair this exact color before. The color is great, not too purple, or too red. It is bright and happy without being annoyingly in-your-face (in my opinion, anyway). I wanted to find a pink that was the same color as my pink Pilot Varsity, and this ink is almost identical to it.

This ink behaves well in just about every respect. It is not waterproof, but doesn't claim to be. It flows nice and smooth, with no feathering on Rhodia paper. The dry time is about average.

I was slightly disappointed with Private Reserve Rose Rage, but where it falls short, Hope Pink picks up and soars!

I purchased this Diamine ink as a sample from The Goulet Pen Company, and I most certainly want to get a full bottle!

If a color is good enough to make you question your masculinity, it is GOOD! Ha!

I love this colour too, Shayler. It is soooo pink. Brightens up a page, or a crossword or sudoku.

That's a lovely colour .... I like pink ink, and don't think it's at all 'effeminate', as i said about Herbin Cyclamen :)

I rather think that the liberal use of pink ink only "affirms" one's masculinity. Liked the color in my gray Al-Star 1.1 ...a lot...I say liked...my girlfriend stole my bottle...and the pen. That's how I got her started on her inky road to ruin.... good plan ...huh? She let's my borrow every once in a while...no affiliations ...I mean pen/ink co's.....LOL.

I have seen things that say "real men wear pink". Personally, it makes no more sense to me than saying a blue ink is masculine. It's just ink! I hope I didn't offend anyone with my above comment, it was certainly just a jest at the silliness of it all.

As for your girlfriend, maybe buy her a pink Safari, and you'll get your Al-Star back? LOL.

Greetings all,

I HATE PINK!

However, I'm going to buy a bottle of this ink because it's a worthy cause. :)

I have no idea what I'm going to use it for... it might make a good editing color... :hmm1: It might even make a good color for business correspondence..., (in limited quantity and accompanied with an appropriate footnote). :hmm1:

All the best & God bless,

Sean :)

Sean, methinks it would make a good ink for writing and signing birthday cards or other greetings to anyone who may be inclined to enjoy the color!

If any of you are interested in buying this ink, it is currently on sale at Goulet (no aff'l), but I didn't want to mention it until I had secured my own bottle... mwahahaha! B)

Nice review, and thank you for the shoutout! This is one of those inks that's very nice but tends to get overlooked. Diamine especially seems to have a lot of pinks...they have Hope Pink and then they just have regular 'Pink', which Rachel and I have jokingly dubbed as 'Hopeless' Pink ;) haha

You could always try saturating it with Noodler's Bulletproof Black and turning it into your own Black Swan in Australian Roses concoction... :eureka:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
