I could not find anything on this ink. Anyone try it? Especially the Blue Madonna. Here's a link.

My link

Thanks in advance.

Interesting! Where did you hear about this ink? Have you seen an example? The web site seems to have very little information and the links to the PDF files showing the ink on paper don't work.

At $8 for 10ml compared to $12 for 90ml of Noodler's it seems pretty expensive.

Edit: After switching "\" and "/" in the example links, the links for the M and EF examples work.

It's actually 6.02X the amount of Noodler's! Or 601.5% of Noodler's - based on price per mL. Expensive ink indeed! That being said, it looks like a great blue AND how much ink does one really use?! I can say that I'm guilty of having multiple bottles that are 90+% full. Ink for thought...

So, in other inks terms, Noodler's would cost $ 72, Diamine $ 64, Iroshizuku $ 40 and Herbin $ 24.

10 ml would last for 6 months? On a productive day my pen is empty at the end and 8 fillings with 10ml ink, do you agree? Let's say 2 weeks.

It must be a very special ink. So what again did the Knights Templar find in Yerusalayim that was so valuable?

According to various legends, vast treasure from all over the world -- maybe there were some jars of a rare blue dye, rare surfactants and rare biocides.

Your math sounds suspect -- What would the cost be per ml of ink? Believe Noodler's comes in 90 ml bottles, Iroshizuku in 60 ml bottles, and Herbin in 50 ml bottles? Not sure, but feel should break it all down by cost per milliliter to get a fair comparison.

Agree, 10 ml is a pretty small bottle of ink. Think Baystate Blue is a better buy for a bright, waterproof blue.

Enjoy,

Yours,
Randal

From a person's actions, we may infer attitudes, beliefs, --- and values. We do not know these characteristics outright. The human dichotomies of trust and distrust, honor and duplicity, love and hate --- all depend on internal states we cannot directly experience. Isn't this what adds zest to our life?

Noodler's 90 ml. If it was as expensive as this Knights ink, it would cost $ 72

Diamine 80 ml: same $ 64

Iroshizuku 50 ml: same $ 40

Herbin 30 ml: same $ 24

Do the math :)

I'm not against buying the beautiful Knights Templar ink. Maybe the bottle is very precious. :)

I have to agree on the cost. I've been corresponding with the guy, he's a joy to work with. I think I'll order a bottle just to see how it goes. But ultimately - it's very expensive ink.

No economies of scale yet, and all the satrt up costs to meet. I'm amazed that Nathan manages to prodce Noodlers in small batches at the price he offers.

FYI, not sure why, but my Zone Alarm anti-spyware gives all sorts of warnings going to that website, so I closed it down. Sometimes it alerts over-cautiously, other times for good reason. Here is a screenshot (thumbnail)

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

It looks like the site was put up recently and quickly. Right click is disabled on the pages. A quick whois check shows the domain name is registered to the fellow named on the site, in Hawaii.

Hello! I am “Lord Croft”, maker of Knights Templar Ink. I stumbled upon this extremely interesting conversation yesterday and am quite astounded to find myself at the center of so much intrigue and ……. mathematics (ha!). But, feeling like I am listening in on a private conversation, I have registered on this site and now hoping that you will allow me to join in on this little chat.

First, I have reviewed my website and I can honestly find nothing about it that should activate any alarms – I do not know why that has happened, but I will go over my pages again to see if I can find any reason for it. It may be because I have a few password-protected links…? Anyway, I do apologize for the fears that it has raised. I am very sensitive myself to this issue, having come across some of the garbage on the internet and remembering the times I have had to reload my system because of it. Really, I would never do that to someone else.

Ah, yes, the mathematics – this ink is, indeed, very expensive. Sorry, but it does cost quite a lot to make, bottle, sell, and ship. I had really intended only to use this myself, not to sell it. But then the suggestion was made by some of my friends who I gave some of the ink to, and so here it is. There are many very fine inks out here and no one needs to buy mine – mine is only just one of many choices – and meant only to fill a very specific need by a relatively small number of us. I have really enjoyed using it over the last couple of years and now cannot imagine using any other, but my friends will be the first to describe me as “quirky” (and I can only imagine what other adjectives are used when I am NOT listening!).

Well, thank you for allowing me to join in the conversation. I will be happy to answer any questions. And, if you can let me know what I need to change on my website to stop the alarms, I will be very happy to make the corrections.

Sounds like you'll fit in nicely here on FPN. Welcome! :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
