Sensa Meridian - Review

Went to the Toronto pen show to see pens, talk to people, have good time but I did not go to buy pens, I am broke and I doubted I will see something I want anyways.

Well surprisingly I did and for a good price Sensa Meridian.

I know this pen from pictures and I used to own its BP version so I knew I should like the finger cushion.

First this is a very modern and handsome looking pen, cap is brown matt then finger cushion yellow second part of barrel is brown matt again and bullet shape bottom is shiny yellow.

Clip is curvy and feels very secure in my shirt pocket.

The most unique part of the pen is of course the finger cushion and so that's why I am going to talk about the nib first (I love leaving the best part to the end).

The F nib is super sweet yet another proof you don't need a gold nib to have a good writing experience. Its smooth and has gorgeous feedback.

Nib is stiff and wet, don't need to add more except this is a nib you will enjoy using all day long.

The pen is not heavy but not as light as I expected it to be either.

Its perfectly balanced, I placed my finger right in the middle and the pen stayed balanced.

My pen came without a converter but luckily after a long look I found a converter who fits the pen.

Pen feels very solid and very well made much better then the price its selling for so it doesn't only look well made but also feels solid.

Cushion time, what makes this pen standout out is not its modern design, sweet nib or good quality but the finger cushion.

So how does it feel ?

AMZING!!!

Its a bit different for the first few minutes but then it just feels like my fingers are in finger heaven so soft and gentle no matter how much pressure you put on it.

Summery

Want a very reasonably priced pen (50$ on amazon) very well made with a wonderful nib and most importantly a very unique section that let you write hours on end with this pen and feel fresh as a daisy.

This is a pen you should consider.

For those who want another review here is a more professional review I found of this pen

Nice review!

A while ago I found these on Overstock.com and bought three of them. I agree with everything said in the review. It's really a nice "every day" pen that I, too, can use for extended writing sessions without getting writer's cramp.

Well worth picking up while they can still be found.

By the way, it comes with a box of black ink carts. The ink is VERY nice. Does anyone know who makes it for Sensa?

Cheers,

Tom Connell

This is the Pen I use. and Love. I've had several pens in my life, i even have most of them still,,, but i have no clue who made them, or what kind of ink they use... save the Sensa pen that you have just reviewed... I love this pen. mine is the same model, but black and silver ^_^

I own several Meridians, and they are some of my all-time favorite pens. The nibs are exquisitely smooth and make great lines, the pens are balanced well, and that finger cushion just creates a joyous writing experience.

Unfortunately, Sensa no longer makes these pens, and they're becoming much more difficult (and expensive!) to find. At one time, you could easily get these for $30-$40 each, but they're tough to find in that range anymore.

For those interested, I recently found and ordered a couple in "Crystal" (the all-silver model) from Daly's Pen Shop for extremely reasonable prices (no affiliation, just a happy customer). They only seem to have that one model left in M nibs, but I think it's the cheapest you'll find these pens online right now. They can't have too many left in stock, so if you are interested in owning one of these great pens I'd grab one now.

I also have the good fortune of owning a Sensa Meridian pen which I bought many years ago.

It is a black one, with a M nib. I totally agree with the OP's review. This pen is one of the most comfortable and smoothest one to use, far better than the other more expensive and elegant-looking pens I have. I think I am going to buy another one before they are all sold out. It came with a converter and a package of 6 cartridges. I have been using ST Dupont cartridges with this pen and they fit perfectly well. The finger cushion is a real joy to have on this pen.

looks like an interesting pen, thanks for sharing

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Bought one of these years ago, I think at the Zurich airport. The nib is surprising. Yesterday, I played with it for the first time in months, and to my surprise, a Waterman #2 nib is a perfect fit! Now I have an amazingly comfortable, big enough, flex pen!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
