BOOKWORM 702 BLUE CELLULOIID

[FP Writing]

Hello

i believe this could likely been reviewed before, as this model was seen for quite a while now.

However, when i got the pen in the mail, i am quite fascinated at the polished blue celluloid, that i also wrote a review and .....

of course i also grind it down to fine italic.

edit: wow!! i just noticed you can see the converter through the barrel!! that's awesome!

i have the one with the hooded nib. actually, i have all three color (blue, yellow and cracked ice). my cap posts well with a click on the barrel... not bad.

 

i think i like the look of yours with the open nib better. enjoy it.

It's resin, not celluloid.

I had a quick look on eBay and it seems that the style of the medium nib is as reviewed here but the fine nib is hooded.

How does the barrel look?

The reason I ask is that it's possible to see the brass threaded barrel insert through the barrel and, I'm curious as to how visually intrusive it is in real life rather than in the photo. I have been tempted by these, but have been slightly put off by the possibility of seeing the insert.

it seems to be acrylic, rather than generical resin.

However, it's definitely not celluloid...

I recently bought a Bookworm 702 from ahai006 in Wuhan (I suspect the same guy has a couple of handles). It has a medium nib--not hooded. It seems very well made, with a smooth nib, and writes juicily and well--now. Originally, there was some reluctance to start writing (with Noodler's Turquoise). I replaced the very flimsy-appearing plastic-barreled slide-type converter. I used a Waterman Phileas converter I had around--glass sides, screw-activated piston. The new converter immediately changed the pen's performance. It's now a lovely writer and kinda cute, too (to my eye, the marbled decorative barrel is a little more elegant in real life than it appears in the picture above)--all for $6.90 plus the cost of a good international-standard converter.

Nice pen! I like the transparent acrylic. The transparency is close to what I got when I made an acrylic pen, but instead of seeing the converter, you saw the brass tube.
