The paper was just ordinary lined A4 paper from my classroom at school. Surprisingly there was no bleed through which there is with the copier type paper that we use for most of our documentation / printing.

As Ted said, nice review and handwriting I'd be pleased to have! As it happens, I have an OB Lamy 2000 on my way to me right now although looking at your writing sample, perhaps I should've gone for the BB like you....

I was lucky to win it on eBay, for just £43.

 

The more I use it, the more I like it. It is just so different, though going back to a fine nib, the fine line produced seems somehow inadequate!

I've finally woken up and realised that this was the pen you just outbid me on! I went away and forgot about it and didn;t leave a snipe. As I'd only just ordered my OB, I didn't push this one any harder, but I'd have gone a little higher - up to £50 or thereabouts. So well done

It was actually auctioned on the day before and I had meant to bid for it, was watching TV and forgot. It didn't sell so the guy relisted it. I put the first bid on it and thought 'I bet someone notices it today' and they did, that must have been you.

Looks good! As someone who has migrated to wider nibs, I understand what you mean about something from a fine nib looking somehow inadequate.

Thanks for the review I'm seriously thinking in buying a L2K with the BB nib but I have a question, do you recommend it for a everyday writing?

I have a Lamy L2K with a BB nib and love it , tho I think I will have it reworked to a stub.

There's no easy answer as it depends on what you want to write with it and how you write.

 

If you are limited for space between narrow lines or write in a small script then it's probably not the pen to use. If you have more freedom then it is a wonderful pen to use, very bold and having lots of expression.

I tried a M nib L2k the other day and also noticed the 'squeaking' sound. I'm looking also looking at acquiring the BB and was wondering if this is a common trait to this particular pen?
