Review of Quo Vadis Elastic Bookmark

Recommended Posts

A relatively new product on the market, the Quo Vadis Elastic Bookmark is a handy little tool that can improve the portability of any book or journal you have. For anything that doesn’t have a page marker or elastic strap, this elastic bookmark can fix both of those problems.

The elastic bookmark is pretty simple; a 4.5″ piece of plastic (with a ruler on it!!) with a stretchy elastic loop attached to it. You stick the ruler in the book, stretch the loop around the book, and you’re all set to achieve your wildest dreams (with a securely marked book page!!). You can use it on any book or journal from 5″ to 12″ tall. For $1.50, it’s a pretty convenient little product!

Hey Brian,

if they end up making it with a pink elastic, will you be wearing a pink shirt to match?

I rather hope they stick to the tan, then ...

great review, love the music intro too, thanks

I would if I could find pink flannel in an XLT size, haha! Maybe I'd just wear a nice shirt with a pink tie....which I do own, thank you very much.

Incidentally, it's similar in general principle to the Levenger Book Bungee.

My experience with the Book Bungee is that the strap is kinda short and pretty strong elastic, and I might feel some qualms about putting it on trade paperbacks, even though Levenger insists it's for hardcovers and paperbacks both.

The bungee also comes in several colors.

The Quo Vadis elastic bookmark is strong, but very easy on the books. I'd feel confident putting this on any paperback book.

I have one, thanks to Brian, and it works great. The color choice seems pretty deliberate. Though not colorful by itself, it probably doesn't clash with the many colors. It certainly won't take anything away from the color of the journal to which it's affixed. I remember Chevy did the same thing with their trucks...it didn't matter what color interior you bought, the roof's upholstery was light tan. Cost savings.

I can see that....but why not just make it black then? Black matches anything!!!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
