If you want a well constructed, durable, premium notebook with the best paper around then the Habana is for you. Quo Vadis has made a notebook so good that I probably won't even consider using a different one...

These are definitely writer's nirvana.

Bias alert - I have received these from the company in the past and will greedily accept any more I can get in the future! <insert blissful smile here> They lay flat, they bend back on themselves, you can write on your knee, they'll fit in a purse, a briefcase, no bleed through, no feather, my broadest of OBBs are happy and the pocket holds handouts from conferences - YUM!

The most all around fountain pen friendly notebook that I have encountered to date. Now if only they would consider plain and graph versions.

Those versions are on sale in the UK -- I could ship one on at cost but it would likely be *quite* a cost -- the large sizes weigh in at about £18 plus UK shipping!

I think they do ship overseas from this site.

My fave notebook by a mile as long as you have the US version with Clairefontaine paper. They are now avauilable in Australia too, great for us who live in the lucky country.

I agree they are the bomb. Like Ghost Plane, Exaclair sent me one (and some other goodies) a little while back. I was considering selling Moleskines or CF products.....the Habana convinced me Clairefontaine was who I needed to sell (plus, I'm French!!.....Goulet). I love the large Habana, I use it for journaling and note taking. I often just caress the paper until my wife gives me the stink eye, then I stop. The Webbies are great too...I carry a small one of those in my back pocket when I'm out and about!

I like the Webbies too, but I opted for the large one. I just don't have much use for small pads.

Are these available in Europe or even better Belgium? I can find clairefontaine notebooks, but no hard covers. This looks perfect! I'm using a clothbound clairefontaine at the moment. it's good paper, but I can't write on it if I place it on my knee.

Habana notebooks are perfect, except the size of the small notebook. A6 format isn't easily pocketable in my jacket or shirt pocket. I need 9x14cm or the jacket and shirtmakers have to make bigger pockets. Why can't the papermills and tailors agree their products?

I use now Clairefontaines notebooks, stapled (96 pages) and clothebound (192 pages I think)but I miss the solid cover of the Habana.

Grab yourself a pair of scissors and you can fit that Habana in your pocket!! J/k. I'd hate to see that happen... :crybaby:

Thanks for the heads up. I completely forgot about this post until today. I'm only worried that the paper won't be the Clairefontaine paper that we have come to love in our Quo Vadis Habanas here in the states.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
