have been looking for a good green ink lately. Montblanc Irish Green, J. Herbin Lierre Sauvage, and a few others look enticing, but it looks like Kaweco also has an ink in the running. Palm Green is a nice summery green color, that I can't get enough of. The ink is not perfect though. I have found that while the ink is not exactly dry, it does not have great flow. Granted I did put in a pen that had some flow issues, but they have never been this bad. Multiple times I had to open up the pen and saturate the feed (that is why the green is darker in some places than others). This ink also is capable of a little dark red, almost black, sheen to it. It was extremely hard to capture, but it can be seen in the swab, and a little in the last picture. Other than slight flow issue, that in the right pen could be solved, this is a lovely green ink. I would say if you are mulling over a few greens to try out that you should definitely throw this one in the mix. Or if you can't decide to pull the trigger on it or not to just go for it, I doubt you'll be disappointed. The ink is a little on the expensive side though, about 46₵ a ml. Now for the pictures.

Nice looking ink. I have J. Herbin Lierre Sauvage which is quite similar, well saturated and perhaps slightly 'brighter'. But this looks like a really nice green

The flow is fine, IMHO. If it seems dry, I'd blame the pen. I have two other greens in the ballpark of this ink, Noodler's Gruene Cactus Eel (lighter, more yellow) and Montblanc Irish Green (darker, slightly more bluish). Kaweco Palm Green is my favorite of the three.

Going by the price/ml, they are quite "proud" of it, aren't they? I was a little worried about winter shipping, and I noticed that I could get the cartridges (short international) from Jetpens for about the same price/ml as the bottle, so I bought several boxes. I can transfer to other size cartridges with a syringe.

I know my id is "mhosea", but you can call me Mike. It's an old Unix thing.

After some inspection it was caused by the pen. When my ink level is low in this certain pen the flow is constantly interrupted.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
