Indeed its a beautiful blue, personally I'm not a huge blue fan, but this ink got my attention. Its a really wet blue.

I had a cartridge filled with a blue that I quite liked and after much research determined it was Asa Blue. At which point I bought a bottle of Yamadori and am extremely happy. It's virtually the same blue, and I'm such a stickler, but the Sailor has the sheen for me.

That's the ink that made my Pelikan M200 with a skipping problem actually usable again. The aesthetics are just extra icing on the cake.

I have this ink and it seems like a very deep turquoise to me. It is the best "turquoise" I've seen, followed by Diamine Mediterranean Blue, since they are not that light.

I've currently got this inked up in a Stipula Splash, though I'm not flexing it out. I seem to be getting the slightest hint of a red sheen. Has anybody else seen this?

 

Have to admit, in the right pen this ink is absolutely STUNNING. So glad I bought it!

You most likely had Mediterranean Blue, Asa Blue doesn't come in cartridges.

It is a cracker and one of my favourites. You might also like Presidential Blue - which is great too but nothing like Asa!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning.
