I bought this ink from the Toronto Pen Show. It was sweet deal. I don't think this Noodler's ink is currently in production.

Great Penmanship!

BTW how does this compare to the Noodler's ink that Agge found for us?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Amber,

Thanks for the compliment.

I don't understand your question about Agge? What's Agge?

The Penmanship comment is for you... the Agge comment is for me.

Agge is a fellow FPN'er that traded a few bottles of Stockholm Indigo with me. (and Amber)

  • 6 years later...

Interesting.  I bought a bottle of Blue Upon the Plains of Abraham from Wonder Pens in Toronto a few years ago (I was going up to a conference and detoured into Toronto to go to the store before going out to the conference, which was in a hotel at the airport -- getting stuck in Friday afternoon rush hour traffic from Hamilton on, and then after leaving the downtown area; and that was AFTER getting stuck in a construction zone traffic jam trying to get to the Peace Bridge on the US side of the border).

My bottle is more of a blue grey color than what your link shows (I wasn't getting the purple undertones I'm seeing in your link).  But then, it was also about four or five years ago at this point.

I should pull that bottle out at some point -- I haven't used the ink for a while....

Ruth,

Sometimes....it's better to simply have the vendor mail the ink or pen.  I certainly don't attend pen shows in different cities for just pens and inks.  Transportation cost and hotel fees don't justify the money and time.  Better use of time is order online and have vendor ship the pen or inks.  If I was a pen maker, then yes. I would need to attend pen shows to reach prospective buyers.  Stuck in traffic....we all been there.  Be thankful your line of work does not involve transportation of goods because being stuck in traffic is part of your job description.

I wasn't at a pen show.  I was going to an educational conference for the organization I belong to.  Since I was going to be in Toronto *anyway* I figured I'd do a little shopping before heading back out to the conference, which started Friday evening.

It was sort of amusing when I got back across to the US side on Sunday and when I got to US Customs, and asked if I had anything to declare, I said "I bought a bottle of ink...."

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
