Beautiful :)

 

Love the ink too, happy that I managed to get a bottle of the first batch.

 

I find that I don't get a very even distribution of the gold even after shaking my pen before I write, any suggestions? Would putting the pen nib down so the gold settles near the nib be okay? Would there be clogging issues if I did that?

I have it in a demonstrator and when I laid it down for even a few minutes, the gold migrated to the bottom. I'm hesitant to leave my pen nib down because it would be no fun to clean.

I've accidentally left my pen with the nib down with this ink, and it does cause clogging issues--you get too much gold and not enough liquid coming out of the nib. But turning it nib up and tapping the back of the pen against the paper seems to fix it.

Currently in rotation: Wing Sung 698/Diamine Blue Velvet, Wing Sung 618/Diamine Golden Oasis, Lamy Profil 80/Pelikan Edelstein Aventurine

I totally agree! Now that I am enjoying the use of all three 1670 inks, gold flakes in the violet-tinted blue would be the bees knees :D

      @Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film.       Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
