it seems this brown has a lot more black in the color than i expected. more like brown-black. i touch of golden brown to the color would be nice.

I did have an old sample... it is possible that it is not as dark in other reviews..... I don't know for sure.

It is a cool cool brown to deep brown/black depending on the nib, feed and then width. It is always brown.... but depending on the nib sometimes, especially wet nibs look charcoal brown black.....

 

I think yours is pretty accurate. It is a great ink, I use it more than Blue so I guess it has replaced blues as my ink of choice. Not much red or gold tones if any, very very dignified......

It is interesting that you have used old perfume bottles to store your ink. Do you find that the ink adopts the smell of the perfume from the bottle?

I think it sounds like a good idea to have ink with a hint of perfume fragrance.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
