Seeking Con-W For Pilot Capless/vanishing Point

I posted a comparison between old and new Pilot VPs on the Miscellaneous Brands forum earlier (that post is here), and asked about a replacement for the cracked converter on my 1960s Pilot VP. From the responses, I gather that I need a CON-W.

So, how do I get one, given that I am based in Europe? Replies gratefully received.

(Sorry if this is an obvious repeat, but the most recent threads I could find are a couple of years old.)

There seem to be several FPN members based in Japan. You might contact them.

My helper in Japan does not have difficulty locating CON-W converters and, she is not a fountain pen person.

I have not asked where she gets then. Assume Itoya or stationary department of department store on Ginza.

Thank you!

Hari, that thread from December 2013 is extremely detailed, made encouraging reading.

Stan, I had kind of hoped that someone from Japan might see this and get in touch. I can filter the FPN member's list to render about 3 dozen Japan-based members, but I'm not all that comfortable contacting people at random - seems too much like spamming to me. Even if I look only at gold members (proxy for activeness), it's still about 15. I'll do as you suggest as a last resort, though.

When I bought an old vp from an ebay dealer in Japan, I asked him about a getting a Con-W using email (not ebay messages). I had his email because it's on the paypal confirmation for the pen I bought. He sells con-w, but not on ebay. He just billed me directly in paypal. $10.50 to US including postage.

So, who was the seller???

At the time, I asked the seller if it was OK to post the contact info on FPN. He did not reply either way, so I have to treat it as I don't have his permission.

I just sent him another email asking permission again.

My impression from the fact that no one sells CON-W on ebay, and from some other posts on FPN, is that Pilot restricts their formal distribution in some way,

You could do an ebay search for "vintage pilot fountain pen" and check the sellers in Japan and ask them. There won't be many.,

No email reply.

When I do the ebay search I suggested, I find e-sell_jp, pens-hal, win_world_jp I would ask those. (There were more hits to the search, but many are not located in Japan, and a couple in Japan, based on their listings, are not pen specialists.)

Send an e-mail to engeika and Taizo will set you up!

UPDATE

I did as you suggested and Taizo has now replied, though it took a few days. We are now in discussion, so I guess I'll be sorted out soon. I'm bothering to mention this, because gregglee reported getting no reply.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
