I don't count an ink as waterproof if contact with water is going to cause any amount of colour to run off the page observably.

It's waterproof but it's based on the fact that the pigments embed themselves in the paper fibers.  Any excess pigment on top will get lifted...so the best way to use these saturated inks is EF nibs that won't overload the paper's ink-adsorbing capacity.
