Held out for awhile but finally bit. We've been getting too many pens and too much ink lately, but this was _the_ ink for my wife during school, so what's one more. The pens are a bonus. Thanks for the link. Let's see if 9 more pop up now that they're running out.

:gaah: I have been stalking these auctions for the last few days, but SO put me on punishment for spending too much money for FPs and related items.

:crybaby: Life can be so cruel.

Do not listen to SO.... this is one of the deals of the year....

You are getting a bottle of one of the hardest to find vintage Sheaffer inks with 2 brand new Sheaffer Agio pens for only $21.00..

You can sell one of the pens for what you paid for the whole package....

It is NOT, I repeat NOT Slovinian Skrip.... this is the old Made in USA Peacock Blue....

And as I suspected the pens are Sheaffer Agios in Tranquil Yellow with medium nibs....

One very happy camper here.....

I stand thus, corrected, Grizz. I assumed so because my own bottle is the blue and yellow type and not the more modern gold burgundy. Sentimental reasons aside, the modern Slovenian made Turquoise is an identical color as it is Waterman South Seas Blue (does mixing Noodler's Navajo T. with South Sea imrpove Navajo's flow?). I love the color, but won't be bidding, cash issues.. More for you guys with a sentimental attachment to the old Peackock Blue!.

Received my first pair of ink bottles with 2 pens today. Ordered another set yesterday, so of course they have not arrived yet. Did a test write on a piece of cheap copy paper, of the Sheaffer with Peacock blue, and underneath that, with a Bexley BX701 with Namiki Peacock Blue. Not even close to the same color. If I get a chance at work today I will do a comparison scan and post it.

The Sheaffer is as I remember from elementary school/junior high, nearly the color of snocone, as described by blackranger. The Namiki is much darker. I really like both colors, but the Sheaffer was FREE, considering I paid $21 for two $25 (at half-price) pens and got the ink thrown in. Come to think of it, the Namiki was free also, as I got it for Christmas from my son.

The pens appear to be Sheaffer Agio Fashions in Tranquil Yellow.....

According to Jim at PenHero these are nice writing pens.... and he is closing them out at $25.00 each. His regular price was $50.00

If I am correct, and I think I am, that makes this auction a fantastic deal at $41.00 including shipping for 2 pens and a bottle of Sheaffer Peacock ink....

I just did a BIN ....

Tom,

Math is apparently not your strong suit. I purchased two (2) sets yesterday, for a total of $42.00 including shipping. That is for two (2) bottles of ink and four (4) pens. It is even a better deal than you calculated, by a factor of nearly two to one. It is $21 including shipping for two pens and one bottle ink, if any remain.

Donnie

Donnie, it was a typo.... hit the wrong button and never looked :gaah: .... I really should proofread my posts.. :bonk:

As of now 10:22 AM EST there are two more sets available....

Hi Tom,

Look on the bright side - at least you didn't accidentally type 4 when you did the BIN :bunny01:

Soki

Actually, the bright side would have been if he DID accidentally type 4 when he hit the BIN. I almost which I had.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
