Lol :roflmho: ! Well, that should last anyone for at least a month! Oh, I think that this photograph has excited my ink lusting hormones. Now I'm desiring a one gallon jug of ink. I really shouldn't look at such photographs when I'm already hungry.

 

Indeed. I had the irrational desire to drink this ink like a jug of fine wine. (And I don't even drink wine)

It depends on how wet your pen writes.

(As far as I am aware a fine nib can be wet too)

And on how much you write and on what paper.

 

(Inkejet paper is wetter than cheap squared paper for me...)

 

I use a Montblanc M ib - used possibly 3,5 bottles of blue black and about half a bottle of blue in 2 years.

A bit more with a few other pens.

 

But I'm writing a lot - A levels, now university.

Unless you write several pages every day and scribble a lot - 2 bottles can last over a year.

I have not yet made it through a bottle of anything -- I keep buying new inks.

 

My guess is that I'll end up using about 4 bottles worth (150 to 200 mL) of ink each year.

 

ETA: bad math

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
