Review of Camlin Trinity:

Hari, what should one do with the pen if it takes some time to write after its being used after a while. esp if it does so everytime. (how to get instant writing every time)

also, is there way for my chelpark ed filler pens to make their writing a little drier. coz they are too wet.

Hi Hari, how do you rate this pen. esp how do you compare this with pilot tank, and wality 69 TL.

I did use a Trinity for a while. I think it is an ordinary pen, just OK. I feel the 69TL is better made, has the bigger size that i prefer. But this is just my personal opinion, other's opinions will vary. The Pilot tank is a very well made ED pen for the money.

although it writes okay but camlin trinity doesn't give me the feeling of a 'Fountain Pen'. it rather writes like a smooth, wet ball pen.

Thanks for the great review and everyone's help on Indian FPs especially Kevin from FP revolution and Hari!

Would a Camlin Trinity be better than the Chelpark Moti? Both of them appeal to me but I want to know which one is more smooth and wet to write with. Another pen I like is the help ark soldier it looks good and is extremely cheap but looks quite basic

I have also heard both brands have good inks and I have seen some swabs and were they good for the price!

I am interested in Chelpark Sapphire blue but no one has reviewed it :crybaby:

One last question - Camlin or chelpark blue?

I have this pen - Camlin Trinity, and it skips a lot !

I flushed the pen many times with water but to no avail. The nib is fastened so tight, that it is seemingly difficult to pull out.

I've got one, and it is one of the pens I keep coming back to. Comfortable to hold, and a smooth reliable writer. Skips occasionally but not that often. Although I did discover one disadvantage with the flexibility when it comes to filling. I once opened it up to check how much ink was left in the converter - what I had forgotten was that I was using it as an eyedropper...

The supplied converter is not very good, but I'm pretty sure most standard converters would fit. Mine has a plain steel nib instead of a gold plated one.

The concept of this pen i very good. It can be used in any situation, wether you have ink bottle or cartridge. I've also got 2 of these pens. The tip of the nib is not very smooth. I've put the nib of old camlin sleek fountain pen which is writing much better.

No problems in using this as an ED

If there is no ink leakage problem then as an ED FP it will hold a lot of ink.

i dont understand the hoopla regarding this pen. it doesn't write smooth, its not exactly scratchy but has strong feedback against most Indian available paper. it writes from fine to medium thickness and is wet. I used waterman Blue-black and scheffer purple ink and also good old camlin red ink with it. My wife gets peeved whenever she sees me writing with it haha, mostly because i think she brought me a Waterman Hemisphere and a recently a Schaeffer Sagaris. Up close Trinity looks very cheap too, but every time i think of chucking the pen, i give it a go one more time, write a couple of pages and sign....i wish it was slightly better.

somehow even though i dislike it i feel quietly protective towards it when my friends diss about the pen..mostly because of the price..its just 100 bucks!! i mean one gotta go easy on this fella...hes just 100 bucks! it reminds me fondly of my grade school days..and it even smells strongly of plastic too....ahh those bygone school days and Rs 5 Reynolds ball pens and Rs 30 'chinese pens'/fountain pens...ah those terrible terrible days.. the India of 80's.

anyways - wouldn't recommend this pen to anyone and IMHO if one is a first time fountain pen user, this might even turn them off from using fountain all-together. but its only 100 bucks says my mind reproachfully again..ok one good thing though - it writes from the first stroke on and doesn't skip at all.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
