My new (to me) Montparnasse arrived today and I've already inked it. It has an F/M nib that is as smooth as glass and leaves a line exactly as advertised, halfway between a fine and a medium. I'm going to really enjoy this pen. Here's a montage of my S. T. Dupont mini-collection, I really love the lacquer pens, but the platinum Fidelio is very nice as well.

A very nice ST Dupont pen you've got a new...congratulations! I like the state of the art design of this Montparnasse. Do you know if this is still being manufactured by S.T. Dupont? If my memory is correct, I read from somewhere that it was replaced by the Orpheo as a topline model of S.T. Dupont pens - I am not sure though.

Nice pen! If my vague memory serves me well, I like the look of this one better than some other S.T. Dupont fountain pens I've seen.

Personally, I like the girth and design of this pen in all aspects. I find the size and weight correct - as I love metal and heavy pens - and very comfortable to write with both capped and uncapped. The materials and workmanship are really qualitative that make the pen really impressive once you have it on your hand, and the nib of course is very smooth with a generous ink flow. This is a must-experience pen, one must really try it.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
