Faulkner F with Akkerman Passage Blauw & Pix 172K grey striated pencil (Yard-O-Led HB). Somehow of all the blues (10+ choices) at this time I keep on reaching for Akkerman Passage Blauw and Pilot Kon-Peki :wub:

Glad your baby is home :cloud9: Sure glad you know how to write with those skinny nibs, cause anything smaller than my paintbrush looks like drunken spiders. :embarrassed_smile:

 

Always when I read you post I wonder how your handwriting looks like.

Just curious. Can you please post some samples?

 

Until I'm in a position to, click on my blog link in my signature and look for my Quo Vadis Habana review. You'll see my scrawl using IB and BB nibs. :embarrassed_smile:

 

Thank you for pointing me to your review. Now I know why you want at least a B-nib. Your handwriting is not that spacious and even with a BB-nib it looks very normal and good readible. If I use a BB-nib I can only write three to four words in one line. (Or it isn't readible anymore.)

Thanks! :blush: Now you know why I don't like the newer line spacing on the Habanas. They took what was perfection for me and squished the lines together. Works great for folks who need narrower nibs, but slows me down making it fit. :gaah:

 

Hoping to get time this year to give examples of OBB and O3Bs in action for all the people always yammering about obliques being "people who hold their pens wrong." :bonk:

For my work I have made my own paper with a more generous ruling.

The normal ruled paperblocs are even more tighter.

A recent acquisition from the Montblanc Boutique in Charlotte: Should have just said "pass the butter" when I ordered this pen! The nib is an absolute dream with which to write and a good German ink is in order. Oh, sure, it's a challenge to drive, cook and get in and out of the shower with this beauty but I can't seem to put 'er down!

The nib is an absolute dream with which to write and a good German ink is in order. Oh, sure, it's a challenge to drive, cook and get in and out of the shower with this beauty but I can't seem to put 'er down!

well, let me explain... it's the 124 from the 70's (i think there is a 124 model from the 30s) and it came with a 18c fine nib. i got it in an antique store for $125 and the condition is quite pristine, except that is missing the end cap snow emblem.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Congratulations, it is a meisterstuck. Some of the best pens that MB ever built IMO. The entire pen can be taken apart without tools.

how difficult is it to find the back jewel/snow emblem? BTW, was $125 a good price for this? it writes flawlessly!

Somewhat difficult as i have never seen them sold as spares. I think a nicely done resin insert will work well to cover that hole. take care not to fill the hole with glue/adhesive, the spindle end is very near to the hole and can get jammed by adhesive. the star was a friction fit insert, that's why it falls off. 125$ is a decent price, not sumgai level.

Obeyed, obeyed--still have not put her down! As others in this forum have observed, the Montblanc broad and double broad nibs are in a league of their own: stubbish, responsive, silky = virtuosos !!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
