Blackhawk Tactical Case For Your Pen/Notepad/Smartphone

Just thought I would share a neat case for those out there looking for something a little different than the usual leather pen cases. This little guy looks handy if you need a place to carry a PDA/Smart Phone along with a few pens and a pad. I don't work for Blackhawk but I do sell to LE and came across this while looking for a rifle case for a customer.

Justin -

I've seen the phrase "tactical pen" several times in the past couple of days, but not before - ever. Please: what is a "tactical pen?" Thanks!

Tactical was referring to the case it self rather than any specific pen. After reading the thread title I see now how that could have been confusing. The case itself is a cordura nylon in OD green and designed to organize your cargo pocket on a BDU or Battle Dress Uniform that is worn by SWAT teams and or Military personnel. As for a tactical pen? No idea! I have seen some camouflage space pens but that's about as "tactical" that i know. :ninja: ;)

Edit: Changed title for a clearer description

When I saw the title for a "tactical pen case", my first thought was "How ideal for the Dani Trio Tac Carry II pen. Winedoc offers those occasionally on Marketplace. Nice pens. I have a few, and have purchased some to resell to folks who do not inhabit FPN.

I've had a few "tactical" pens that were basically the equivelant of a kubotan or pressure inducing device with the alternate "personality" of a pen...

Let me see if I can find a couple of examples & I'll post them..!

I have been carrying my work pens in one of these for a while. The pocket behind the pen loops is perfect for index cards and Field Notes size notebooks. I get 5 pens on the left and markers/highlighers/mechanical penscils on the right. Eraser and spare cartridges go in the mesh pocket on the front. Works great and is very protective of the pens.

I smiled, too, as most FPNers wouldn't use pens for self-defense.

But, if a pen must serve another purpose, here's a source for one so designed: http://www.smokewagongear.com/p-297-mil-ta...efense-pen.aspx

The blurb in the ad doesn't address how well the pen writes, ink refills, etc.

Isn't google nifty?

May you have pens you enjoy, with plenty of paper and ink. :)

Please use only my FPN name "Gran" in your posts. Thanks very much!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
