Almost a 'bucket-list' endeavor for me ..... so wish me good luck :)

 

... here goes,

now is your chance to own one of my handmade journals.

Read my thread over here to better understand the 'journey' I have taken in crafting journals that work ....

 

Some summary notes for those of you unfamiliar with my creations so far :

1) It all started with a (frustrated )need for journals that take FP ink well, if not decently

2) They are all A6 in size (easy to carry around)

3) They contain pages that take FP ink without problems. I only select papers that I would use myself. (the proof is in my ink testpage in EVERY journal, intentionally written with a wet writer.)

4) They all open flat and stay flat open.

5) they are about 1cm thick in order to provide maximum writing comfort. (too thick and you struggle with writing when you reach the edges).

6) Each of them (and all future ones) are individually numbered as per the Colophon page.

7) All have pockets at the rear.

8) All pages are unlined, ie blank.

 

This is the first batch that I am offering...

I intend to sell only here in FPN and no where else.

You pay Shipping and Handling charges.

 

Its the Chinese Lunar holidays here and the Post offices won't open till wednesday next week.

Therefore I can't check the S&H rates.

Offhand, S&H to USA is approx USD$7 to USD$9 by registered air parcel post.

The journals will be packed and sealed with plastic protection from moisture, packed into bubblewrap.

 

Strictly no 'meet-ups' and self-collect for purchasers who are fellow FPNers here where I live in sunny Singapore. (its too much of a hassle) Local purchases will be by wire transfer payment. Shipping will be by registered mail thru our local reliable postal service.

 

I am offering only these journals here becos the rest have been given away.

You may request for those designs not on sale here. (36 to date, #35 is not posted yet)

 

The first "I want it" will secure the purchase of that journal.

PM me to indicate your choice.

If you wish to not see the gaps between the signatures on those journals with exposed spine stitches, pls let me know, I can apply glue to seal up this gap, although it is not necessary. Neither does it make the journal stronger. The journal will still open flat and stay flat open.

 

Most (if not all) of your questions about what goes into these journals are adequately addressed in my thread, thats why the detailed pics and description there.

 

I do not know if my papers are acid-free so you can assume it is NOT.

In future if there's a need, I may source for acid-free paper.

 

Payment is by PayPal.

Do NOT pay me until you receive a "request for payment" invoice from me.

 

This is my first sale , so pls be forbearing ..... Like all first times, I expect some hiccups ...

 

Special Note...

As mentioned in my thread in 'Chatter' , FPN Moderators have an option of either buying whats already offered here or order a journal from me so that I can incorporate an FPN watermark into the journal. How and what manner , I don't know , but leave it to me :rolleyes: .... (I have some ideas swimming in my head) No extra $charge.

You only need to identify yourself as a Moderator when you PM me.

Moderators if you think I am flouting some rule here, then just let me know and I will withdraw this FPN watermark offer.

I'm sorry to sound ingnorant, but could you actually say how many leaves in the journals? I'm not conversant with what "folios" etc. might mean in terms of acutal numbers of leaves and pages.

I can sure say I want one - I would prefer #28 and then #34 but I presume from the posts above, these have been sold. Please confirm.

 

If they have - I would like to go for: #31 the cobalt blue as my third preference. Please do let me know if the other ones have sold. I would also buy #30 if I am allowed to be some greedy and buy two!

 

So to clarify if 28 and 34 are gone, I`ll take #31...and if I`m allowed to buy two then I`ll have 30 as well :)

I would like #30, and if I can't get #30 then I will take #26 if still available. If for some reason #30 isn't sold, and I am allowed to take 2, I will have both.

If I hadn't just dumped a bunch of cash for stationary, I'd be all over several of these.

 

Are you going to be offering more of the same in the future (like: Journal 26 "Handphones"

If for whatever reason, the transaction doesn't go thru, the journal will be sold to the next person in line who wanted it as well.

I'm a little puzzled why this one hasn't seen any takers.

 

Is it becos its landscape format ? (I had thot a landscape format might be ideal for sketches. It also looks good by the time its filled with writing.)

 

(or is just not aesthetically pleasing enough ?)

I thot the paper was beautiful, plus the fact its handmade paper.

 

Will some kind soul provide some feedback? (consider it a mini market survey if you may)

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning.
