I lived in New Delhi for a while and while I wasn't aware of any good pen shops at the time, there were often street vendors around Connaught Place where vintage delights could be found. If you get a chance, paper from Rajasthan is very good.

Have fun, it's a fantastic place!

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of nothing at all...

Welcome to India ! I live in Gurgaon . which is very near to Noida and Delhi . I am a big Fan of Italian brands like Stipula and Visconti , and i have to order pens from all over the world because you don't have brick and mortar shops specializing in fountain pens here . Allthough , if you order from internet shops like, Pengallery.com amd Melpens.com (both in Malaysia ) , it'll be delivered to your doorstep in three days .

If you are looking for Brick and Mortar shops only , then following are the options :

1. You can get regular brands like Cross , Sheaffer , Parker in any of the regular shopping malls like , ''Lifestyle'' , Shopper Stop'' etc , which have many franchises in Noida, Gurgaon and Delhi .

2. There are quite a few Montblanc showrooms in Delhi. These sell pens which are overpriced and overhyped by Indian standards , but maybe a bargain in some foreign currencies. A shop called ''Kapoor watches'' is an authorised Montblanc dealer.

3.You may also want to check out ''http://williampenn.net'' , which is a reputed pen shop with both Internet and Brick and Mortar shops in many airports and cities in India.

4. There is a market called ''Nai Sarak '' in Old Delhi near Red fort which specializes in selling books & Stationary and you may find some pen shops there .

May i suggest , you squeeze in sightseeing of the historical cities of Delhi and Agra(Taj Mahal) in you schedule, as you would be living very nearby.

Good luck for your trip and feel free to ask for any advice if you need so.

regards,

Dev.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
