On February 17, 2009, in Los Angeles, following the LA Pen Show Bonhams will auction more than $1,000,000.00 in mostly new in the box Limited Edition Fountain Pens. Among the many highlights of the auction will be Dunhill Namiki Sakura Rose and Motorites pens; Dupont two, three, five and seven piece sets; unique creations from Grayson Tighe (limited to 1/1); Montblanc Black Widow, Dali, and White House pens; Pelikan Genji and 75th Anniversary; and far too many other Limited Edition pens from Aurora, Delta, Dupont, Krone, Omas, Parker, Visconti to even begin to list, more than three hundred lots comprising a total of more than 400 pens.

Why do you say so?

I personally have 33 limited editions fountain pens by Krone! And I like them very much (I admit though that issues with the quality exist)

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy.
