Haha, it's great to see how many other people fell into the "I need all the colors' trap I did after IANAN's clever marketing review post.

Congratulations, Soki! While you completed your quest for the Ruby, I completed my quest for the Emerald. I was perfectly fine without... until IANAN saw fit to make sure I'd check out the Edson a little closer (in a slightly offhand way). Then came his review of the trio, and I knew I'd never be happy without all three.

 

I'm happy now.

I have an almost mint sapphire FP with factory stub and BP. Might be interested in selling if anyone is keen to have them. By almost mint I mean it has been filled and written with one fill of ink. BP never used.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
