I dig it. Now if it were clipless, I would be all over it.

Why, sometimes I'd like to take a switchblade and a peppermint and a Cadillac and throw it all in a fire.

Nice. Interesting design that is somewhat similar to a Namiki Yukari Royale Vermillion or Nakaya Urushi Araishu (sic?) portable. Only modification I'd like is to have a bit more taper at the ends, not too much.

Good luck with this design. I like the clip too as it is aesthetically simple and elegant.

Okay, it's occurred to me that, while I like this pen, I haven't seen this with all your models in a group shot to really see how it fits in and fills a new niche.

Want one badly Brian but the Aussie dollar is now at 60c to the US. Last pen I bought from you it was mid 80s. Curse this economic crisis!

Would it be heresy to suggest an alternative with black filial top and bottom? In the right body color and a black section, it would take on a look similar to a vintage Pelikan. I'll start saving my money for my next Edison Pen.

Hi Brian,

Is this pen a one-off or are you taking orders? I would love one if you're taking orders!

Soki

I haven't officially announced it yet, but this will be the next production pen.

I'm thinking that I will offer this as either a CC, or a bulb filler.

The bulb will be pretty neat.

Email me if you'd like to talk about an order.

Thanks.

Love this design. I heard a rumor of an Edison piston fill. Any truth to it--should i start saving? Bulb filler looks cool on Richards site also.

I do have a couple of piston mechanisms to build around, and there should be a piston pen from Edison someday, but not anytime soon.

Maybe spring or summer.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
