Group buy for iroshizuku inks?

This is just a thought but it might be a great idea for everyone to get some ink and save on shipping costs. I know I would want at least one bottle. Maybe someone could get a hold of a shop that would be willing to give us a discount on a large purchase and we all could save on shipping and such.We would probably have to have it shipped to one place and have that person send it out to everyone or something like that. It just a thought. Any ideas on the subject?

I think Richie (sales@cyberpens.co.uk) is going to be selling these & he doesn't charge shipping. You should email him.

No shipping to the US?

On pens-definately. I'm not sure (yet) on inks. I'm looking into it, too.

If cyberpens doesn't have a deal that works for me, then count me in on a group buy.

I wonder, if there is so much demand for these inks, how come there are no (that I'm aware of) US distributors. This sounds like a license to print money for any US shop.

I got the "winter general" bottle... the shipping was about as much as the ink :(

I'd love to go in on an order if it's not too costly ($1,000 is probably a no :) )

I think the shipping mainly has to do with the fact you're shipping a glass brick that holds ink ;)

I would be in for a group buy if someone sets it up.

I haven't a clue how to get this started. Maybe someone knows someone?

I ran into the Pilot/Namiki rep down in Philly the other day, and he made it a point of mentioning that efforts are underway to get the new inks to US distributors.

I'd be interested if we can get a significant discount, too.

Ujuku offers no discount on bulk purchases (I've asked and the order at the time was about $3000) and the only upside is the free shipping offer, very worth it for inks.

Well, I was thinking a significant discount on the overall price - I guess the shipping saving isn't technically a discount, but it's pretty significant when shipping is $25 for two bottles. :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
