AAAAAAAAAACKKKKKKKKKKK!

That's the one I've been looking for!

And man what a deal! Mark V. is cruel and won't let me have his. :P

:)

Enjoy - these old style 200s are my favorites.

KCat, I am actually looking for a grey swirl one, but I could not pass this one up...

IF I find the one I want at the right price, you got first crack at this one....

Wow what a great find, at an amazing price. Ebay can be really great, but it can also be terrible. I really wish I had more money for pens! Oh well, congrats on another Pelikan , maybe a review when it comes?

i saw several grays on the bay this weekend. I think all out of Germany but seemed like a reputable dealer. Not this great a price however.

this color was discontinued in or just prior to 1997. Note the different shape of the cap top and the fact that the Pelikan is engraved rather than screened. I asked if a certain seller in Asia had any of these still and I won't tell you the astounding price I was quoted. Even with a 14K nib it was just absurd. 27 and change is excellent.

KCat: Since you believe I'm cruel, I should meet your expectations. :D

To be clear, I won't you let have any of the three "blue swirled" 200s that I have: old style, old style with engraved cap from Pelikan's 150th anniversary, OR new style. :P

Old Griz: That is a great price.

OldGriz, very nice find indeed. Enjoy!

MarkVB, (*southpaw shaking his finger at you*) "tsk tsk tsk. It's not nice to taunt. Funny as all get out, but not nice." ;)

"Ehhh, Bite me" she said sweetly. ;)

May the fleas of a thousand camels...

no... what I mean to say is

Have a Nice Pelikan Day! :D

There are some people who actually prefer the new style - where are they and how can I get them to cough up their old stock pens? :)

That blue would look so lovely next to the silver/grey marble and the Telekom 250.

To quote my kids (add whiny voice): But Southpaw, that's not fair...she started it...

Rather than respond to your ad hominem attack ;) , I'll merely point out that, in the old style 200, you really need more than the blue marbled. You also need the green marbled, tortoise, black, clear transparent (two variations), and green transparent (two variations).

If we add the old style M250, you also need the black/dark blue, black/green and bordeaux.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
