House of Leaves (super cool novel)

Hi. I'm going through boxes of my books and have a few that can leave my immense library of very smart looking books.

This book looks brand new, has never been opened* and is the remastered full color edition. It goes for about 30 bucks on Amazon.

(bleep) said "It is a difficult book to read and holds up very well to multiple readings as you know what to look for and can see forboding/ foreshadowing much better."

Impress your friends by carrying around this big book!

I'm looking for a couple of things in trade:

Miquelrius 300 page graph notebook in black (larger size)

Clairefontaine French ruled clothbound notebook with a dark green or dark blue cover (smaller size)

Quo Vadis Habana book

Hero 100 or 112

Nakaya clipless Long Size Cigar Aka-tamenuri (or any other finish)

Montblanc 149 EF

note: I don't think I'll be able to make it to the post office until Monday the 6th.

note: If I get a couple of offers I'll take the one that is most appealing. But I promise that I will not be a jerk!

*I read a library copy

Oh yeah, I don't want all of these for the book, if that was unclear. Just one, or more. But if you want to do all, that's ok.

Oooh how about a few of the large Apica journals and a Moleskine pocket book?

Are the Apica ruled? I unfortunately cannot write (I don't know why) comfortably on ruled paper.

yes they are ruled but I also have a rare Crane notebook with amazing paper and a double coil binding. Have never seen another one of these in years

I'm a lefty would the Crane's binding encumber my writing? I will be back tomorrow!

Well you could turn the book backwards and start at the end as the pages are blank!

The Crane sounds awesome. Would you be willing to throw in an Apica?

Sure I could put the two together. I notice there is a smudge on the inside cover of the Crane. would that be a problem.

Maybe for completion of this transaction PM would be better.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
