Hero “700” fountain pen

The Look:
This pen is finished in lustrous green metallic finish (its also avail in black)/ The clip is a mix of chrome and gold – its very much like a parker clip with the arrow point removed. The last 20% of the cap is covered in a gold band with an etched flying eagle and the model no “700”. For me this band adds a little too much bling to the look of the pen and I feel it would be better without it.

The Nib:
The nib is a semi hooded affair and writes quite smoothly. The pen is supplied with a removable aeromatic style filler which I have changed to a parker plunger converter as this converter give me a better view on how much ink is loaded.

For $25 plus postage I think this is excellent value. It won’t replace my Pelikans but its seems a reliable skip free writer so it’s a keeper for me.

I got this from Isellpens a month or so ago and its had moderate use thus far.

see this link for image of actual pen (from isellpens) (Original url broken - now fixed)

Love your writing---and the color ink!

I'm kind of fond of Hero pens. There are two that I use a LOT, and they were ten bucks or less from isellpens.

I'm thinking of picking up this with the 12K nib. I've read that Hero's gold nibs are actually pretty good.

well, they are not bad. the nibs are fine point and springy. also, they don't cost as much. one can get a pretty decent gold nib writer for about $50 (or less).

Oh, what a beauty!

Thank you for the great review.

I've got a lot of very good pens from Todd. Yours is simply stunning. I am glad that it's a good writer too.

Every time I say I'm not buying new pens, something like this comes up.
