My very basic standing desk. It's easy to keep the floor clean around it!

Clearly it's mainly given-over to computing but on the small bottle-shelf, left to right: Aurora blue, Visconti green, Um er Quink blue, Visconti brown.

On the note-pad: Parker Sonette Ciselle and to the left thereof: Parker 45.

I'm learning various languages and other materials and use hand-writing as a rote-memorisation tool.

I'm impressed. One of my first corporate jobs, I had my own "office" it was about the size of your desk there in the closet of one of the converted bedrooms.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The newest configuration of my desk. I saved my nickels and dimes and bought a new monitor, the vertical one on the right. Now I can have horizontal documents on the left-hand monitor, vertical documents on the right-hand, and I use the laptop screen in the center as my main navigation screen. The laptop is docked there about 98% of the time.

I especially like the phone set up as a screen and the FPN webpage. Great job.

I prefer a clean desk at work, at the end of each day I go thru and straighten everything up.post-96068-0-79550800-1434723125_thumb.jpgpost-96068-0-50278900-1434723085_thumb.jpg

You need to do something about that awful view out your window.

I think that it's just a poster. You can buy those anywhere.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Here is one I took this morning...the lighting isn't brilliant for photographs.

Nice view! I had a similarly nice view back when I worked at EC3.

The cup contains a Montblanc 149 and a Pelikan M625. All the paraphernalia is kept inside the cupboard. PerhapsI should have opened it! Next time!

You know what they say: a clean desk is the sign of an empty... Uh, nevermind ;)

I really really like your office. Nothing fancy or ostentatious like some of the other pics here, but with a great view.

Keyless works your picture is fantastic, the composition with the monitor of your pc reflecting the bridge is astonishingly beautiful. There is photoshop, levels, nik suite etc to better it but for me basically that is a great photo.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
