If there is a Container Store near you, check out the office section. Two Container Stores in the Dallas are both sell an assortment of Rhodia and Clairefontaine pads, notebooks, and paper, as well as Xonex notebooks, which look good, but I cannot vouch for the FP friendliness. Also they have Amodex 1 oz containers for $6.99.

Prices I noted are as follows:

Sm Rhodia notebook $3.49

Block #8 notebook $3.49

Small notepad $2.99 (3 3/8 X 4 3/4 size)

Lg notepad $3.99 (4 3/8 X 6 3/8 size)

Xonex A6 journal is $4.99, don't know how many pages

Clairefontaine notebook 6 3/4 X 8 3/8 is $8.99,

notebook 8 1/2 X 11 is $16.99

They had the 1 oz nalgene screw top bottles in the travel section for $0.59 each, so I bought 6 to store and mix ink. They also have 2 oz and 4 oz bottles, narrow or wide mouth. I got the wide mouth, even though my Danitrio Classic fit handily into the narrow mouth. No additional cost, and easier to get the ink in.

The one in Plano, on SH 121 has them. That is where I found them, anyway. That is the Container Store nearest my home, and the only one I have been to locally in the past 4 years.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
